GPOTD 11.13.14

Back in the day (1986) when I was working for George Benson I got Mike the guitarist a deal with Kramer... The rep brought down a couple three pieces and one of them was a Ferrington.

It was wretched at best. sounded bad not plugged in and I think that it sounded worse when it was plugged in...

There's just something about the headstock going one way, and the soundhole going the other that looks sooooo wrong.

Yeah, horrible guitar, but he makes some great stuff...here's a nice little vid:

He's playing a pretty funky mando of his at about 1:45. I'd totally jump on the instruments featured in the vid...except for the ones Jackson Browne touched.

they should have made it white with black trim....cuz then they could have called it the "scream" acoustic

I think they may have. My friend had a black one with white trim.

Here you go:

I liked the Tele better...

I find the bass to be less offensive overall, but I'm conflicted about it. On one hand I first dug it because Chris Squire played one in Yes's vid for Love Will Find a Way, on the other images of Gene Simmons playing one when Kiss did unplugged adds an instant sleaziness:

The bass in a natural finish with a more tradition headstock might interest me, if I didn't have a Godin A5.

Hideous! The size of the headstock is tiny compared to the guitar body, and the shape of the soundhole is gauche. And that clownburst finish?!
