Scored our 1st PA today...many questions

Thanks Jello, it's Digital Reference of some sort and a 20' monster mic cable. Thanks for you help. We'll be at it again Friday night, a few more folks this time for a bbq.

Scored our 1st PA today...many questions

I went ahead an bought a mic prior to Saturday night. Didn't use the thing but probably should try it. Or...perhaps just get a full return from GC since it hasn't been opened or touched in any way. It's still in the bag with the receipt. Just found out our bass player is moving to Vegas in a...

Scored our 1st PA today...many questions

Hey fellas, your advice was dead on. Hard to see any need to mic my C30. That thing sounds great cranked up outdoors. The PA did really help with vocals though, maybe a bit of overkill but we've got a lot of experimenting to do. Thanks for guidance, can't wait 'til next weekend to do it again.

Scored our 1st PA today...many questions

Thanks guys, you've confirmed our original plans. We're going to set up today and experiment but we just want to be sure to balance vocals vs a drummer who is up and down, mostly up 3/4 through each song. The plan is to just add a touch of the built in reverb but nothing else. I've got what...

Scored our 1st PA today...many questions

Thanks Jello, we picked up a very lightly used Phonic 740+ with a pair of upgraded 15" mains. I figured micing the amp would be the way to go but had to try direct to see how it would sound. I use a boss me-50 and there is an option there to run direct to PA but there is a special cable...

Scored our 1st PA today...many questions

Just a cheapie but it should do the trick. Now the questions... I plugged my guitar straight in through my Crunch Box and got a lot of crunch but can't say the tone was great. I'm thinking now it might be best to mic my Classic 30 and run that through the system?? Are you running your...

    $20.00 NGD

How about tolex? Something to match an amp or just something completely different. Should be pliable enough to work with and still durable as hell. I like this one. The original Ampeg diamond blue Tolex. Lots to choose from here as well as tons of other sites. Tolex Samples

my feeble attempt at rhythm guitar

Very nice. I'm the opposite of you Damon. I don't play my acoustic much and I'm not that comfortable with it.

Are you losing your musical, spiritual, energy?

Are you still comin' down off your big 4/20 smoke out?

    MI Audio Crunch Box FTW

I've heard good things about the Tube Zone as well. I think it's a bit pricier though. You can find a used CB out there for not a lot of $$.

    MI Audio Crunch Box FTW

Can't help it, gotta say it, debate me if you will. This thing puts my Classic 30 just inside that next level of crunch that is so satisfyin'. The C30 is great alone but...stomp on the CB and it's a crunchy wonderland of goodness. electricguitar054Totally_jammin_out:rawk:

for non HCers that don't know me, or those who haven't seen... check out ma' vids...

Nice Job Dice. I've found that recording myself and listening/watching it a few times is really helpful. In my case it can be painful but hey...it's about getting better. I struggle with singing and playing but I find that the less I concentrate on it and just relax it seems to come along...

Looks like I'll be selling my #1. Dammit.

Sorry Pete, things really suck for a lot of folks right now. As miserable as it seems it sounds like you have your priorities in the right place. Let's hope you can get this turned around asap!
