Cool story about Edge's Gibson. The rest of the band hated it when he bought it....and it actually has a broken headstock/neck (broke on the Unforgettable Fire tour). Even the Edge himself admits it plays like absolute shit, and always has, but it sounds so good, he keeps it around....

I've always wanted a Gibson Explorer, but every single one of them I have ever played just played like ass.......

When Kerouac was in town, we went to a guitar shop, and I tried out an Allen Collins sig Explorer. It was glorious. Lightweight, resonant, perfect setup, big ass neck. But at $10,000, it was a bit out of my price range.
