RIP Harold Ramis

When I was but a tyke, our dog had a litter of puppies. One was a runt, which I took a liking to and was allowed to name it.

I named it Egon. I couldn't have been more than 6 or 7.

RIP.

And I said it on facebook, but I'll say it again; Many Shuvs and Zuuls will know what it is to be roasted in the depths of the Slor today, I can tell you!

A hero, an icon and a legend. A very sad day. Goodnight, sweet prince.

Damn. I loved his work. He was the force behind Bill Murray's career, for which I hope that class A douchebag is enormously grateful.

RIP.

very sad.....i saw this on the interwebz news a couple hours ago and was floored.

serious genius of comedy.

Don't quite get where the Bill Murray aggro is coming from. He's not done owt over here for years except a brilliant cameo in Zombieland and that thing with Scarlett Johannsen I've never seen. Always seemed like a stand up guy???

But I digress

RIP Egon.

He's had his battles. I think he may be past it, but who knows. Anyway, I think Murray is one of the best actors of his generation.

Murray is not well liked by a lot of the folks he has worked with, much like fellow feudist Chevy Chase. His work record over the last two decades has been much better than Chase's however. :embarrassed:

I know Wes Anderson gets a lot of crap for his "hipster" films, but I love them and Murray is always cast perfectly. And I'm 100% with Howie... great actor.

Ah. I'd read he'd had a bit of a run in with Chevy Chase but Murray is a legend so I'm quite prepared to give him some edge here.

Bill Murray is a fantastic actor, one of the greatest. My post was about him owing much of his success to Mr. Ramis.

As much as I love Bill Murray for his work, I have personally experienced his overt douchebaggery first hand, and all for doing nothing more than simply glancing his direction as he walked to his car. He and his latest ex-wife bought a home nearby several years ago. I would regularly see him around the neighborhood. Never approached him, never did anything other than smile, and acknowledge his presence. He was ALWAYS an asshole.

Being lucky enough to work around celebrities quite often, I get how the public attention can be overwhelming, but in Murray's case, it goes beyond the standard wish for privacy and into downright dickhead territory. Which is why I firmly believe his career was only made possible by the brilliant work of Mr. Ramis. His reputation for being hard to work with might have otherwise found him struggling in relative obscurity.

Anyway, sorry to sort of derail the conversation. Let us celebrate the great life and work of Harold Ramis.

That is all.
