Yamaha purchases Line 6

That's just unacceptable. Seriously. We don't have to all like (or even pretend to like) everyone here, but that's completely unacceptable.

So now you go to whining about it? first you act like a complete asshole and now it's everyone fault? So you're a millennial I take it?

Dude, seriously?

I have NO clue what your problem is.

I expressed an opinion. You told me to kill myself.

If you don't like the fact that I made sure EVERYONE saw your psychotic PM, well.. You probably shouldn't have sent it.

Merry Christmas.

I'm still trying to figure out how this thread went this way?? Didn't seem contentious at all to me.

I haven't heard any iPhone modeling apps that sounded as good as the HD500.

Wow. Hopefully folks can chill the fuck out. I've got pm's into both of you and I'd appreciate it we can resolve things there and let this thread continue on as it was.

Sorry Mark, my first instinct after getting a hate filled, psychotic PM was to make sure the evidence was made public. Not trying to upset the crowd at all, just covering my ass.

I really am completely dumbfounded over how my opinion, expressed with the same sarcasm as virtually every other post I've ever made here, elicited such a response. I have no interest in drama. I also have no problem with who0mever this dude is before now that I know of, and I have no problem with making sure the good folks of MWGL saw for themselves what was sent to me. The viciousness of it, especially considering what prompted it, is unbelievable.

However, as always, your place, your rules. Feel free to remove the screen grab, or whatever.

Now I'm just fucking pissed because I somehfuckinghow got placed in the middle of some stupid shit because a complete stranger chose to act psychotic.

Fuck me runnin'

I can't win sometimes.

Fuck.

Don't worry, man. We've got your back.

Besides, I completely agree with you. Line 6 stuff is dedicated hardware while most mobile devices these days are multitasking other processes while dealing with your audio.

OK...sammy and OGG have just been asked to drop whatever this is and I'd appreciate it if y'all could just get back to talking about stuff that doesn't have tubes in it.

So...anyhoo, Line 6 and Yamaha. Outta left field.

For me, Line 6 has IMO been left in the dust as far as SS modelling combos go by Fender, and the POD HD stuff givs me headaches trying to play with the parameters. Maybe if the collaboration results in some simplified modelling stuff, I'll be more interested.

I honestly never found Line6 stuff overly difficult. Admittedly I am a former PC tech, but it never struck me as much more difficult than my '69 Bassman with pedals in front of it.

I wouldn't call it difficult (even though I used the word "simplified" in my post  ) - perhaps "tedious" would be a more appropriate description from my end :).

It can be tedious if you have tons of presets, I guess.

I have got some really decent recorded sounds ( I think so anyway :embarrassed:) out of my old POD XT, though I use Guitar Rig nowadays. But, I've never really enjoyed playing loud through a Line6 amp. Something about the response doesn't work for me.

During my stint with HelenaMaria, I used the Line 6 SpiderValve combo and it sounded great. I always got compliments on my tone(especially from sound guys). It was the most convenient setup I can imagine.

Even during airplane mode, your phone is still transmitting data, so if you have it sitting on your amp head you'll get noise.

Me personally, I'll stick with my Pod.

However, that being said, I have heard some decent sounds if you're just wanting to play over headphones or computer. The old Jamlab was pretty good, but mine stopped working. I wouldn't mind a recommendation on a decent, inexpensive app and interface for Android. Or fuck it, maybe I'll just buy an old Rockman.
