College football jam.....

Ags had the lead at the half over the Gators in their SEC opener...then proceeded to choke in the second half...so pretty much the same as last year.

Purdue is 1:1 so far, and that is probably a good representation of their coming season. I anticipate a finish near the bottom end of the big ten.

I actually like Purdue this year. And with 1/3 of their division ineligible, all they have to do is beat Wisconsin.

Now that I live in northern Florida, I will be rooting for the Gators to loose every game. The fans here are spoiled whinny bitches. Boo hoo, we haven't won the national championship in a few years, and we hate that coach who won us 2 because he didn't want to coach here anymore.

I generally root for them because I went there and have friends from FSU and Miami so it is sort of automatic. I'm not too rah rah either way. I played baseball there and have to agree the fans are some of the worst fair weather fans around. Win and they are great. Dont win, or dont win by a lot and they get nasty. I am sure there are a lot of places like that though. I think it's the beer.

Oh joy....

CU is playing Fresno State. They have played less than 8 minutes and CU is losing 21 - 0. Less than 8 minutes. Worst CU team in University history. Time to change the QB....the AD....the coaching staff....

It gets worse. the next time Fresno State gets the ball - first play....97 yard touchdown pass. 28 - 0 in 10 minutes game time.

Florida just might pull this one out. For the record I don't hate Urban Meyer. The only ex-Florida coach I hate is Ron Zook.

CU switched to the backup QB....he is now 2 for 8.

Just imagine what is going to happen when they play USC and Oregon on consecutive weeks. Beat downs of biblical proportions...

Oh wait....Fresno got the ball back. Second play from scrimmage....94 yard TD run. They now have three touchdowns in their last four offensive plays. 35 - 0 with two minutes left in the first quarter.

Ladies and gentlemen - this may be the worst Division 1 loss in decades unless something changes fast. This is unreal......

Mojo Dave, if it helps Oregon will get there clock cleaned as soon as the have to play a team that has heard the word defense. It happens every year.

One a bright note Florida is fighting the the noose on Tenn. looks like it will be 9 in a row for the Gators. :chewie:

Someone has to win today...

CU finally stopped Fresno. They (Fresno) had a fourth and goal at the 4 yard line. UP by 35 points. They went for it. Now 41 - 0. That is just bogus. Kick the freakin' field goal.......

You seem bitter. I never bought into the just go easy on them thing. If you can keep putting it in the end zone do it. It's not your fault the other team can't stop you.

I don't believe in running up the score unnecessarily. Leave the first team in, but give the field goal kicker some work. But I'm not a college football coach....

You need to it do for your bowl selections. I know they say that margin of victory is no longer a component of the formula, but you can't tell me it doesn't make a difference in the coaches poll. As I always tell my Dad when he bitches about teams like Florida running the score up, if you don't like it, stop them. It's division one college football not that stupid everyone gets a trophy for trying crap that they have now days. Maybe they will work a little hard at practice next week after getting stomped by a team like Fresno State.

That was supposed to happen this week after losing to a division 1-AA team at home last week....

At least CU finally scored....48 - 7 now.....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Colorado was ever much of a football powerhouse. It has to be tough for them to get the kind of recruits they need to play with the big guys. The only thing I can remember about them is that dick at coach and the despicable way he treated that female kicker.

They spent a pretty solid decade in the top 20 in the mid-80s to mid-90s (with one National Championship in '90) and have had a few top twenty teams since. The dickhead coach was Gary Barnett. The whole program went into a tailspin while he was the coach and they really have not recovered. The last coach could not recruit and the current team is trying to recover from him. As bad as they are half the team are true freshmen so they really should do nothing but get better unless these bad beat downs get the team so down players just leave. CU generally has a good football program so I am optimistic they can recover in the next couple of years.

BTW - 55 -7 at half time.....
