Quarantine fitness jam

Little guy robbed some of my sleepy time last night so I slept in this morning and didnt run. Rocked a good chest and back weight routine this afternoon tho. Bumped up again on the bench press weights and managed to get 7-8 rep sets

Good run this morning with some added hills.

Hit leg day this afternoon and now stepping over the baby gates is a real bitch.
Gonna rest the gams tomorrow but lift arms and shoulders

Got absolutely destroyed in a windstorm in the south Valley today. So much for the perfect nature of biking in ABQ. Last 10 miles were a desperate venture to get the hell out of the weather.

Riding my fixie today as I'm still trying to replace my rear wheel on my road bike. Being forced to pedal every moment while moving is good training also.

You should ride a track bike.

Bought a can of orange faygo on ride last night. Ingredients are scary. Don't know if I can do it.

That's what I have. When a roadie says fixie they mostly mean track bikes, which are the original fixies.

Wrapped up a good week of exercise this afternoon. 4 runs and 4 weight sessions. That beats my goal of 7x30 mins exercise per week.
I cycled around to chest and back again today (also hit them on Monday) and struggled a bit. Not sure if it's because of some crummy sleep last night or just the 2nd time hitting those muscle groups this week.

Ive spent most of the week painting the house again so no real cardio (except see below) but I got a few resistance workouts in. Back and biceps again today. Same numbers as last week fir the most part but not as hard going which is good.

As for cardio, I fear the bike gods are out to get me. Finally got it all dialled in and took off yesterday just for a putter around.

Try to change front gears and it's jammed tight, looks like I've wedged the bar tape in there, no biggie, just made it a bit harder going.

The end of my loop was to drop a sympathy card off at a colleagues house whose dad passed away. Just as I pull into his street the arse falls out of my back wheel and I know I've picked up a flat.

Wouldn't be an issue except since I wasn't going that far I decided to leave my spares and tool pouch in the shed. 2 mile walk home on my cleats was fun :embarrassed: by total chance it meant I bumped into my brother, neices and nephew who live down there and were out for a walk so that was nice, I'm just sick of this bike it's just been one thing after another since I dug it out.

I used to have a guitar like your bike @jbj . Nothing ever went right with it .... it's frustrating.

You need to get out there without the hassle.

I would never go out on a bike with bike shoes and not have a spare tube, even walking from the side of the house to the front on those things is too much. Regular shoes no problems for a short ride but outside of about 2-3 miles from home I'd still want a spare or at least a temporary patch kit cause, you know, Mr Murphy

My under-saddle has a scab kit, three CO2 canisters, and a tube, and a little folding multi-tool. It's not a big under-saddle bag. Worth putting together.

2 of 3 of my bikes are the same. One isn't as the under saddle bag is too small but was my commute bike and used to be my go to the gym bike (and hopefully will be again) so I always have a back pack with me with a spare tube in it. Also a pair of latex gloves for keeping my hands clean especially for the back tire since sometimes you have to deal with the chain falling off the derailleur

The new Crunch gym opened Tuesday so I signed up right away and started working out again. Being a dumbass I went right into chest day like an addict and went hard and heavy. I’ve been in pain ever since. So today I did back day and took it easy so I can ease back into this. I also jumped on a stairmill, but I stopped after fifteen minutes so I can walk tomorrow.

I have a little bag with repair stuff. I just couldn't be bothered digging it out of the shed : facepalm:

Yesterday, Strava told me I went 0.20 miles in 12 minutes, gaining 442 feet. Here's what I was actually doing:

It's actually about 1.5 miles, with +/- 2,000 feet of gain. Just wanting to remember why I'm ponying up for the subscription again?

Or just run instead... Cut out the middle man

Nope worse thing in the world for knees. My running days are long over.

Dan seems like you might have had a GPS signal issue??? with elevation on software updates but that has settled down as of the last few years. IIRC Strava uses a topographical overlay to determine elevation so that particular mesa might not be on their map

I've a Bowie t shirt I've not worn for years because it wasn't very flattering around the midriff :embarrassed: Dug it out today and put it on, looks a lot better :thu:

Unfortunately I've discovered a bar in town that is doing take away pints of lager which may hinder my results somewhere in the coming weeks
