I get shit from people all the time. Get a real amp. Get a real guitar. You'd sound so much better with a LP/Strat. Whatever. I play what I like.
Because they would know what you would sound better with. People are fucktards.

On a better note, got a reply from a drummer and bassist. They sent over three songs to learn. Not stuff I would choose, but fun to play. I hope they plan on getting another guitar player, because this stuff will sound lame arranaged for one.

We will see. Gotta be better that rocking the backing track by myself everyday.

Played my McFeely at a gig and I was told at one of them I should try a "real " Fender. I told them when Fender makes me a model with those options, I'll buy another McFeely.

Stained and close minded. A good player can make a Squier sing. Shouldn't that be classified as a real Fender? It has the name on it.

I could only imagine if I had thrown that into the mix. I left it out since i feel it needs to be heard.

Best question to ask that band would've been, are you gigging? If so, how much? The usual response is: Oh we are working on our music and trying to get tight before we go out and play some shows. Pro Attitude, my tokus!!

I don't let it bother me. Personally, I don't care what you show up with. Just don't suck.

Good luck on the audition!

Godzilla (seems like a strech for one guitar)

Ha. I’ve never played Godzilla until a couple of months ago. I was jamming with some guys in the neighborhood and one of them wanted to play it. It is a stretch for one guitar.

This. During my playing in bands days this was a regular thing from people in the audience. People would suggest I get brand X guitar all the time, you know, once I made it big, so I could sound like a pro. It didn't matter what I brought to a gig, if it didn't say fender or gibson on the headstock I would get idiotic comments like this. My strat with a warmoth neck was always a target, as it had no headstock logo at all, and the thought of playing an generic guitar was very offensive to many people. I also got a fair amount of people who came up to me between sets and told me my blueshawk or LP were fakes and that there are a lot of fakes out there and the idiot talking to me was "100 percent sure, bro" that my guitar is one of them. The blueshawk always got this comment as it looks LP ish, but it isn't exactly the same shape.

Interesting combination of tunes!

Godzilla can be pulled of with one guitar. Hopefully the bass player is a strong player or fail!!!

Re: Godzilla- what is that effect at the end of the chord progression that has a bit of movement? Pitch-shift? Like a subtle movement.

I'm always amazed how much shit I catch from people for liking that. "Monster Rock", "Sounds like a bunch of 40 year old losers in their mom's basement", etc.
