I'm mixing an original now that has 49 :eek:

I can't remember the last time I did a song with less than 20 tracks :embarrassed:
 
Guitar tracks sent to Prages (finally). There one small one I need to do today still but the big ones are done...

I very rarely go past 20.

Usually 7 tracks for drums, 2 for bass, 2 for rhythm guitar, 1 or 2 for lead guitar, and 3 or 4 vocal tracks.

I couldn't get my backing vocals to sound thick enough, so I ended up with 7 backing vocal tracks. :embarrassed: I also have 2 keyboard tracks on this one.
 
Nah, email is fine. I probably won't have a chance to work on the vocals tonight though. Maybe tomorrow evening.

When is the deadline again? I think my Saturday is pretty full with a race in the morning and dinner with my parents in the evening, but Sunday is open, I think.
 
Oh, I didn't know he was doing the keys. I'll try to at least get the guitars rough mixed this evening so he can be working on the keyboard parts while I'm working on the vocals.

I did a little more tweaking to the mix this morning, though I haven't downloaded the newest tracks you sent me yet. :embarrassed:

I've really come to love what a mic modeller does to warm up a direct recorded guitar part. I used a Sennheiser e609 model on the tracks, and they are starting to sound much more like a mic'd amp.

I hope to get a start on the vocals this evening. :thu:

Cool! I wish I had the time to try and mic an amp around here but I'm usually recording while the studio is open and I can't make the noise....especially for this kind of sound :embarrassed:

The mic model thing is an interesting idea...what plugin are you using?
