Fall Recordingfest - The 80's!!!

Ok, so Coverfest Idea #4 is almost full realized! All I have to do now is record vocals... everything else I finished up about three minutes ago. I even did a really rough instrumental mix so I can listen to it some tomorrow and see how I feel about it with fresh ears. I know I'll have to do a final mix, but it's always good to gain some advance perspective.

Oh, I'd also like to say that this is the first thing I've ever done completely in Logic, from recording to mixdown. The whole way of working has been different from how I'm normally work, so I'm excited/nervous to hear what you guys think. :)

I know...I've been swamped but I should be able to start recording this week...I'm not even on the forum as much as I was...:embarrassed:

They're waiting for me at home now. Musician's DFriend is stll majorly on my shit list though, and if they don't fix this then not only will they no longer receive my business, but I will recommend to the 300+ families that visit the music academy each week to shop elsewhere as well. :) :evil:
 
I got drums recorded for another song last night, and figured out one of the rhythm guitar parts. :thu:
 
I'm pretty much finished up with the music to the one I started a few days ago. Just need to add a percussion track or two.

Then it's on to the screaming, high pitched, harmony laden vocal tracks. :embarrassed:

I'm sitting at 17 tracks right now. Probably 2 percussion tracks, then about 5 or 6 vocal tracks.

Amazingly enough, the mix on this one is coming together great. I had a hell of a lot of trouble on the first one I did. This one is just falling together with very little work. :embarrassed:
 
I got my acoustic track done and I'm stuck there. Lot's of things going on including mother-in-law practically moved in. I'm never going to get any better at this if I dont get some consistent time to work on it. :mad:
 
I used to be able to sing this guy spot on as a teenager. Now at 38, not so.

I may need Dexter on this. I have a feeling you would sound most xcellent.

I'll keep trying though for now.
 
I just PMed Mark another entry.

I count 27 tracks on this one. :embarrassed: 9 of those tracks are vocals! Of those 9, 7 are backing vocals. :eek:
 
I can start working on the vocals Friday. I can't track them late at night, which is generally when I like to track, so either Friday or Saturday will have to be it.
