What is going on that is actually new and innovative in Guitardom?

I know. It wasn't until last night that I figured that I'll probably keep using the head and cab setup though. If I'm going to do it then the 44 is a no brainer.

i'd be interested to hear a comparison between the pedalboard into the 44 into the cab, and also into the bassman + cab.

I have the iRig as a backup but it really is limited for that kind of application. When the shit hit the fan in Santa Ynez last week I decided that I'd rather ride out the amp situation then deal with the phone thing. I'm pretty sure that you can't run your pedalboard into the front end of the iRig and not crunch the living shit into unusability and there is no controls for changing sounds on the fly. I'd probably be better off just plugging my pedalboard into the PA.

yeah, iRig won't do it. but Guitar -> iRig -> EHX 44 -> cab could be killer.

yeah. If I'm carrying around a cab already it's a no-brainer. I was trying to not "go big" with my gear but maybe its for the best. And a Suhr Badger head is much cheaper than the combo anyway :embarrassed:

besides, you've got the Suburban now. it can take it.

lol. Honestly I'm not carrying anymore than the bass player is to every gig so I shouldn't complain and I think I can run it at a decent volume to get the sounds I need. We'll see in the coming weeks.

Jinmoid

Here is another guitar!

Okay, not what most expect, but it is not the first electric guitar with a few frets more, a single pickup, soundholes and to many, the L-bow-design is nothing new?
This guitar is a signature model for the Japanese artist and friend JINMO.
This "six-handed" guitar dervish needs every centimeter of his guitar, thus the 39 frets, while the bow extends the low-end and adds enough "meat" to even the highest notes.
The body shape places the tremolo (or optional fixed bridge) fully integrated into the body and gives full access to even the highest frets.

Of course, this one can also be ordered with less frets, a second pickup, etc....

Typical 6-string specs are:
Scale length: 647,7mm (25.5")
Frets: 39 + zero-fret
Width/ thickness at nut: 42mm / 20mm
Width / thickness at 12th fret: 54mm / 20mm
Width at 21st fret: 58mm
Width at 39th fret: 62mm
Neck shape: flat "D"
String spacing at bridge: 10mm
String spacing at nut: 7.5mm
Pickups: EMG 89 (others upon request)
Hardware: truss rod, Steinberger TransTrem*, ETS headless system or fixed bridge with standard tuners
Colors: all, pearl and metallic effects
Weight (with TransTrem, BassXX, battery): ca. 2750grams (approx. 6 pounds)
Weight (with fixed bridge, passive): ca. 2150grams (approx. 4.4 pounds)
Available as 6-, or 7-string (more upon request)
Options: soundholes, different pickups, optional modified BassXX preamp, fixed bridge or tremolo etc...

* The TransTrem is pretty rare and is only used, when provided by the customer. Our stock is empty and we don´t buy those from Ed Roman.

They fail to mention that it is completely hollow one piece construction to include the neck.

Also the Flaxwood guitars:

Me too. Gitarre & Bass reviewed one and said it is the most extreme, touch sensitive and dynamic guits they ever tried. Ugly as sin (theirs was neon green  ). But, if you practice on that..... If they say a tele is a lie detector.

Character series pedal + 44 mag would be fun to try out.

I DID spend a couple of hours with the Valvetronix last night. It's kinda cool being able to dial up so many amps.
However, when I switched picks and the sound out of the amp didn't change any, I put it back in the closet.
I'll stick to my tubes for now, I guess.
