Question: What are you practicing?

Decided to start playing bass again during the downtime I have every thirty minutes of sitar playing. I can only play sitar about 30 minutes before either my legs are both numb to the point of pain, or the back pain makes it impossible to play, or my finger is killing me from sliding up and down the string. So now I’m killing time playing random stuff and I’m trying to learn Pixies songs because I never actually listened to anything other than that Fight Club song until yesterday. Once the bass gets my hands back into western music shape I might pick up guitar again, too. Might as well, I have five of them.

Been playing my Mockingbird in C# over the weekend and realized that many Sabbath songs that I think 'I know', I don't really know properly: I only ever learned the major riffs, but can't play them the whole way through. So today I learned 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' from start to finish, which was easy and fun. Might have a crack at a few more.

Here’s one we did this past weekend. The kid is making videos. It’s ridiculous.

Low carb, because I’ve already gained three pounds during this mess. The good news is that I’ve lost four. I’ve got to keep up my figure!

The biggest challenge of the last few days - or at least the most surprising - is actually putting the guitar down.
I get to a point where my arms/wrists/whatevas are tired, but I'm still pumped from
practicing and full of motivation to keep practicing. In those cases I need to tell
myself that if I'll keep playing the pain will be greater and I'll need to rest more before picking up the guitar again.

The search for a comfortable/efficient picking position is going well, I think.
I'm try to separate building speed from building technique (I think it's more a state-of-mind thing than which exercises I play).

On bass I tried to play the intro to Four on Six, my left hand begged for mercy.

I'm still polishing the fuzz solos from The Carpenter's 'Goodbye to Love', First solo I've nailed, second solo, the outro solo, is a lot longer with lots of sections. I can play them, but haven't really got them locked in my head in the correct order, Like I''ll be playing a part and suddenly switch to a part that comes much later or something, Need to work on linking them in the correct order in my memory.

I started working on that Pink Panther clip I posted and realized I haven't actually practiced anything in about 6 months since my band ended. So I started focusing on basic chromatics and Giuliani exercises with a metronome. I'm also learning to play Autumn Leaves in two different keys. In the process, I stumbled onto "78 Wobble Stone" by Gomez when I played a chord wrong and went "wait a minute...".
