The Never Ending Gig Thread!

Lame. Totally lame. Ask if he wants you to wipe his ass after his next dump, too.

I just found out that they are closing the 405 freeway this weekend for repairs and I need to use it to get to 2 of my 3 gigs.

I probably won't be doing that any time soon. It's not that big of a deal really, he lives at 95th street and makes the trip up here every week for rehearsal and the club is only 15 minutes from my house. Why do they completely shut down the expressway for repairs? If they ever shut down an expressway here it would be a massive clusterfuck of epic proportions.

We are using a couple of female backup singers at the gig on Saturday, rehearsed with them last night with the whole band and it sounded cool but they wanna rehearse Saturday before we load out. WTF? That is something I normally would never do but I said I would. Not only that but our keyboard player told me last night that he thought we were going to take his gear after our last show but he didn't tell us so now I have to go back to the club later today and pick up his stuff. Who the hell leaves a gig without taking his gear? And, I'm playing a show with his other band next month and found out last night that he wants to use three different bass players at the gig. The fun never ends.

Unending fun......

So the Fat Wallapers finally got round to sending me through their setlist and keys. I was opening my e-mail expecting to write a quick "you've not given me enough time to learn the stuff thanks but no thanks" to them but alas no.

Upside: I must have been shown a really old song list at the audition because almost all of it is different and it's not a whole lot removed from the setlist I do with my dep gig.

Downside: Evita is still in there  and of the few tunes they want me to take lead vocals on, Achy Breaky Heart is included.

Usually it's to demo a bridge or something like that. Remember "Carmageddon" we had here back in May?

SHITE!

Just got offered a gig at Fitzgeralds which is a legendary venue here and one that I've always wanted to play but never have. Friday, January 6th, I'm stoked and excited. This has been one of my favorite rooms to see shows in forever, nice big stage, club holds about 400 people.

Tonight was a great night although we played in a 600 seat venue for about 10 people. I'll write it up tomorrow before I get on the boat.

We had a pretty good night. A bit rough in spots though. Decent sized crowd up until the last set, but not much dancing at all.

Back at the beet!

We got asked to start an hour earlier so we'll be digging deep... Be about 4-5 hours of music to play tonight... Already got a crowd in the places though...
