The Never Ending Gig Thread!

Here's a vid from U of W Parkside from sometime late the week before last.

my apologies for the clipping and camera shake, but the vid was shot (a) near the mains and (b) by a student that works at their radio station.


We were back there a week ago today for a radio interview (the only thing we had required of us on our 2 days off to chill in the SE corner of WI). It's been all college shows (unpredictable vibes, crowds, etc.) aside from the show this past Saturday night at The Rave in Milwaukee. Looking forward to video from that show!

I'm really digging it. I find myself with with the blend about 70% on the split brick side and 30 on the HB side and the tone at about 2 with the volume backed off a tad from 10 but only when picking (full-dime for finger picking) AND I'M LOVING IT, man!
The first time I let a wide open B thunder out, the rhythm guitarist Ryan came over and yelled "I JUST SHIT MY PANTS". Haha! The tone is great and combined with the Boss ME-50b, I'm really developing some really cool sounds. The Mercalli 5 plays like a dream, man!

It sucks how NONE of that bass riffing came through the mains as anything discernible to whatever built-in mic that person's camera has. But, oh Hwell.

Nice vid, I sent a link to Ken. Btw I would have a hard time not getting distracted playing with that group. :grin:
 
Well - tonight was my second to the last gig with the country band. Not not exactly a sterling evening.

We played well enough and had a decent crowd (not big - but enough) and they were dancing quite a bit for the first two sets. Then almost everyone left. No one danced the entire third set and by the end of the set there were four people in the club, and two of those were employees. it sucks playing to no one. And to top it off my throat got progressively worse the whole night. It hurts like crazy right now. I need to figure out some way to get through tomorrow nights show vocal wise...

We are playing a place that is new for us tomorrow in a little town about 30 miles west of here. It seems to be a busy place on the weekends and the pay is good so I'm looking forward to offending a different set of people.
I ordered a yamaha p.a. that should be here early next week so I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. I posted the url in a different thread. It's late and I don't feel like looking it up again but it's a 1,000 watt powered 12 channel board with JBL mains and I bought a couple Yamaha monitors. I'll go after subs and more power later.
