OK, take this FWIW as a "potential" great deal, as they are showing as "it's arriving soon", but this top-of-the-home-page banner at Sweetwater popped up just yesterday:

So, my guess is Sweetwater made a deal with Line6 to blow out the black ones :shrug:

Anyway, seems like a relatively inexpensive way to get into guitar modeling and alternate tunings, etc.

It's black and red. A friend of mine ordered one.
 
I would think about maybe selling some things and ordering a red one, but the only option at the present time is black :(. That may change, though...

Someone posted to HC that this was a computer glitch and GC does not actually have any in stock. I ordered one anyway and will let you know. Hopefully I can get this for $599 and tax and sell my 70s Goldtop for $750!

Edit: My order went right to backorder status. Guitar Center does not have these guitars in stock. And Gibson sold all its stock last year.
