Thing is, these are not teams of the best players of the world. These are teams containing the best players of the world. It's always a pitfall of national teams that they have "weakspots". Add to that that there's not a lot of preparation time, and it makes a lot of sense that club football is of a higher standard.

Belgium's passing first half was very good, after the goal it was a bit sad to see them disintigrate, a more experienced team would have kept calm and kept up the passing. France played the kind of negative football that can be beautiful when done well, but Belgium kept so much pressure up high that they couldn't really do much. Basically what we saw yesterday was just two very skillful teams having each other by the balls and not letting the other one play how they like to.

Sometimes you get things very wrong. Before the tournament I really couldn't see England past a quarter final. And they now can actually win the whole thing.
Southgate really must have done something VERY right.

Yeah, they've been super wasteful from the start. Especially Lingard is making quite the habit of screwing up from great positions. Then again, France's efficiency has been rather pathetic so far as well.

And this one's not over yet, Croatia looked like they were finally getting in the game before half-time.
 
Croatia's front 3 are playing like garbage though... Especially Mandzukic and Rebic are being completely useless this match.
 
Croatia are getting stronger and look more in control. Hoping for a bit of magic from Modric.

And as I am typing Croatia equalised. They are getting way too much space at the moment
 
Would be amazing to go for penalties again though. Croatia to the finals without winning a game in the knock-out phase :')

Yep. Definitely Wngland’s weakness. Not nearly clinical enough. The equaliser seems to have knocked their confidence quite a bit.

Also, England trying to play tge passing game. Not smart against Croatia, who are clearly superior at this game
 
So far this game is exactly what football is all about though. Awesome skill on both sides, game flows back and forth, exciting as hell.
