Newsflash! Soccerball International Championship thread?

Dayummmmmmmmmmm. Glad Croatia did it... Though I fear for them against England, they really seem to have some fitness problems and now two 120 minute + penalty games in a row.

Loved what Russia did in this, Cinderella story for sure. Croatia was the better squad but Russia played well as a team all throughout. The semi's should be fun though I suspect France Belgium might be especially so. Without caring who won the games it has made for great entertainment especially with the number of stoppage time/late goals to win/tie games

lol, guess he did.. :embarrassed:

Well the first half had some moments and some dandy saves. The second half it seemed to me that France throttled Belgium pretty good, especially after they scored. There were only a couple of moments of danger. I'm not terribly surprised that France won, I feel a bit sorry for Belgium since a few of those guys aren't going to have another crack realistically. I had hoped for a bit more drama in the game and thought there would be after the 1st half but it was not to be. France just kind of ground it out

I'm sorry, but Mbappe is exposing himself to be as big a faker as Neymar.

He's terrible. I disagree that this has been a good Cup - despite the incredible drama of Russia/Croatia, there's been a lot of poor sportsmanship, mediocre play, and endless simulation. Probably won't watch an England/France final if it comes to that.

It's been pretty excellent all round imo, although there have been no teams or players that are great, just very good.

Mbappe is going to be an extraordinary player if he can stay fit

It wouldn't be the World FIFA Soccerbowl without that. I haven't seen any team as relentlessly cynical as some of the vintage Italian sides, and Mbappé's commitment to wasting time at the end when he had a clear shot on goal did my jaded heart good. At least some of the kids understand traditional soccerball values!

That passing that France did at roughly 55:40 in the match, why don't we see more of that in soccer? That was great, even if they didn't score off of it. These teams are supposed to be the best players in the world, we should be seeing more of that type of passing.
