Geddy keeps his beer in the fridge all of the time. Like all normal people.
And many Canookians have a beer fridge. Ya know, for beer. So, you can set it colder than you might a main kitchen fridge.

But specifically, the official lyric is:

and I take myself out a nice, cold beer.
Always seem to be wond’rin’
why there’s nothin’ goin’ down here.

The two phrases sound identical. 'A nice, cold beer' and 'an ice cold beer.
The folks at genius lyrics think so.

The word nice doesn't add a whole lot to a cold beer. It does make the song sound better.

Understood. However, I’m going to go with the lyrics I posted, which came from the actual band’s website. I think they might be the authority.

You convinced me that you posted the correct lyrics. I was just busting Geddy's chops. I'm a big fan. I still say he had some decent hours in the 'Working Man' era.
But there is this. Anicecoldbeer.

Nice is kind of a 'Mom' adjective.
"Come in from the cold honey. I'll bake you a nice batch of cookies."

I think you are on to something. There are days at work that I want my Mommy. Seriously though, I think it's more like comfort food. It's treating yourself after the hell you went through.

Got the new one in yesterday.
The website mucked up with my order and I ended up placing two different orders. I contacted them to try and cancel one and nothing happened. They probably thought I was nuts. I didn’t have any reference numbers for one of the orders. Just two charges against my bank account.

Once both orders were delivered and I had references for both, it all became clear and they now understood.
I’m keeping both orders though. Too much hassle to return one, and it’s beer.
However, I did order the chalices and one pair were poorly packed and didn’t survive the trip. The other order was well packed and did fine.

I contacted them and they’ve done right by me. Refunding the cost of the glasses and a coupon for future orders.

I had one with tacos last night. That was probably a poor choice on my part. It was okay but I ended up nursing it through dinner and then just drinking it afterwards.

At 14%, it was a long time to get through it. Worth it.
