Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Mojo.

Today I found out a little bit what work is going to be like in August.

It's really not looking pretty and I'm one of those annoying pragmatic let's just get on with it types - I look forward to October when staff are dropping like flies through stress and exhaustion.

On the upside, I have been more productive than I have been for the last couple of months. that must count for something

There you go lad, not as soft as you look :embarrassed:

We're all about growth mindset in work - just visualise the quality pumping you'll be doing with some new rife Fife bird you meet in a grim post lockdown bbq. :thu:

I'm assuming that's straight from the life coaching lessons you give at school @jbj?

So with my disastrous love life and dead end job, i have decided I need to do something with my life that’s been going nowhere for a long time...

I am currently looking at doing a part-time Masters Degree.

Good idea? Terrible idea? advice please

Will give a focus that's for sure.

It’s just that i am good at a lot of different skills, but I am a master ( haha) at none. I always fall short at job interviews because I am not an expert at one specific thing

I can definitely recommend doing an MA, and it does give you a lot of focus. Depending on the area though, don't expect a huge amount of new practical skills, in my experience it mostly revolves around deepening theoretical background and technical skills are mostly required to already be there or developed in your own time.

That said, I would be nowhere near where I am now without my MA. It's a huge boost to doing something new with your skills, opens up an entirely new network and it provides a huge confidence boost.
