Peter Jackson Beatles documentary

True story.

It is. Mostly.

However. Earlier this year, I revisited his King Kong remake. And, in spite of it being overlong, it’s held up surprisingly well and is a better movie than I remember it being. (Hadn’t seen it since it was was on the big screen)

I've really enjoyed it so far. Yeah, there's not much new here, but I think Peter Jackson has done a pretty good job bringing everything together so there's some context and structure. The biggest surprise is how unfiltered it is for a Disney+ show, with stuff like the early "No Pakastanis" versions of Get Back and John's bit about wanking.

I do think it would be easier to digest in smaller segments, like maybe an hour each, but I've sat here like an idiot two days in a row watching each part straight through.

I'm with Tralfaz on this. I ended up pretty much binge watching it (when I could). I haven't seen much of this footage previously, which probably helped, and I just found the whole thing fascinating. Yes it was long and probably could've been cut down, but who am I to judge?

I also found it pretty surreal watching something that happened over fifty years ago in pretty decent quality and remembering from time to time that they broke up a year or so later, that John was shot a decade later (40-odd years ago!) and that George also died (20 years ago today). Not to mention what happened to Mal. It actually made me a bit sad when I saw John with a childish smile when he really got into the music, knowing what finally happened to him.

Also, Billy Preston was cool as F.

I watched it and really liked it. I wish they would have broken it down into hour long episodes, but I just broke it up myself when they would switch days.

George and Ringo were amazingly patient. George was always my favorite out of the group, even more so now.
My friend and I agreed the best part was the look on Yoko's face when the little kid started screaming like her.

I don’t like smoking at all anymore but I really wanted one a few times watching this

As a non smoker I felt the opposite. I just kept thinking how everyone must have fucking stank and I never want to be near a cigarette again.
