Our last last gig....

Well.....the last gig has come and gone.

Considering we had one rehearsal and then played a couple songs we didn't rehearse OR even play together in about 3 years it wasn't bad. Good crowd for the first two sets. Two songs into the first set I did something I have not done live in probably 4 years.....broke a string. Luckily my gig bag was behind my amp so I just sat out one song and changed the string. Loved my new delay pedal, though I need to spend some time with it to really maximize how to use it well.

Our drummer leaves next weekend for England - but he let us know they are back for a month in December and maybe wanted to see about a last last last gig. In retrospect - I don't think so. It was fun - but the drive is really long for me and considering we are barely getting paid it is not really worth my while. Plus as fun as it was - we were just really loose and I would like to see about getting into new band that is a lot tighter and does a better selection of bar cover songs - or is an originals band.

Unless you are making ridiculous cash, if it isn’t fun, it’s not worth doing. Better to find a band that can get tighter and play songs you like/want to play.

It is a 90 mile drive to the venues from my house, so that tends to sap the fun out of it. I made $40 last night, which after paying for gas and 2 beers at the show I pocket maybe $10.00. I'm not really in this for money per se, but that is just shy of insulting.

Where are the venues?
That much driving and bother isn't worth it to me.

Remember just jamming in Joe's Garage. That was so much fun.
