Our last last gig....

Don't do it man....don't be another cog in the sheeple wheel.
That's popular in my area too and everyone I know is a bandwagon jumper. They all think they are going to make a shit ton of money but the reality is there are only about 3 REALLY popular tribute acts that are making big dollars everyone else is just trying to ride coat tails. It's pathetic.
Unless you do this for a living, I'd suggest you get a project up playing music YOU believe in.
For me, it's not about money. That's what my full time job is for.

I agree with you in the full time part. Tribute here in LA/OC are big but only a handful really get the big shows. FWIW, one of my previous bandmates from the Heart Tribute is now in a Stones tribute. They are a big name act and because his line of work was gardener, he is able to participate in things that your average 9-5 jobber can't. Also know another who has a Def Leppard/Aerosmith tribute. He gets work because he owns his own music store hence he stays within the boundries of the business. There are a few more I could mention about but not going to. Was part of that genre for 10 years barely broke even (Rush, Heart, Journey, Tom Petty tributes). Like any band, you need a fan base so if you are going to do a tribute, find one that you can find lots of fans - specifically women because that is more of your dedicated fan base. While Rush was fun, only musicians really cared to see the band more to see if the band could pull off the music.

I had no idea!
Unfortunately, I have the full lineup all ready to go. However, I don't know much about the second guitar player. If he doesn't work out, I'll let you know.

Glad to lend a hand on ARMageddon it...

Sorry I missed the gig Dave.

She didn't need the rope.

Raven is still going?
I last saw them in 1984 with Anthrax and Metallica at the Roseland Ballroom.
