OMG Politics, I'm over it already.

BTW, this entire thread is offtopic from my original post. I posted about being tired of politics on Facebook, and being over it. You bunch of Hooligans! I am glad it has worked out so far (for the most part) and I hope anyone who wants to can feel free to share and discuss honestly, regardless of views, and will treated with respect. Thanks all!

I'm sure he cares a whole lot less about what you think of him than you give him credit for. Dude spoke his mind and bowed out gracefully. If you disagree with it that's fine, but you should probably keep the personal attacks to yourself unless you want this thread closed.
He was making an obvious joke.

Campaign Obituary - Ted Cruz

Now that the die is cast, let's outline the prominent GOP talking points heading into the General Election:

Has Hillary ever smoked pot?
On a scale from 1 to 10, how much does Hillary love America?
How often does Hillary pray and how strong is her personal relationship with her Lord and Saviour?
Bowel movements and urination...how much should the government get involved?
Baby-killing

Am I missing anything?
You forgot gunz and gay wedding cakes.

Jokes are funny because of their underlying meaning. I know he was joking, but I don't think that was the appropriate time. A jab at one of your bros who was so frustrated with a serious conversation that he had to leave is exactly why this thread was started in the first place.

Jeez, you're actually serious?

Such anger will shorten your life. Nothing is worth that.

I'm not angry. If I was, I wouldn't still be here.

I just tend to call out bullshit when I see it, but you should keep trying to turn it into a joke. It might get funny.

It wasn't a jab or a put down or anything intended to make Steverino look bad. It was the same kind of generic lighthearted comment that people routinely make here. This doesn't even merit a discussion but you just said you were calling me on bullshit so....

I can see that.

To clarify, the reason I said something was because of the nature of Steve's lasts comment in this thread. Not sure if he read it as a jab or not, but just in case he did, I didn't want him to feel like he was getting ganged up on.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled bullshitting

Actually gun control will probably be a platform of HRC - which will backfire, and she'll backpedal, like she always does when the polls determine a new shade of HRC is required. This recent backpedaling is classic Clinton: http://www.people.com/article/hillary-clinton-apologizes-coal-miner

The email server actually is an issue as well, in spite of the attempts to minimize that she generated, stored and sent classified information on an unsecured system. I would not be surprised for this to continue to be a problem for her, even after the election.

As much of a loudmouth blowhard and bullshitter as Trump is, he doesn't haven't nearly the problems in his past that she does. I suspect Trump is either going to burn out spectacularly, or actually win this election.

On the DNC front, I do admire our little socialist from VT for sticking with it. The people in this state know he is a man of his word. He has tremendous support here.

Clinton was 100% correct in that her original remark was taken and quoted completely out of context; the fact that attempted to apologize at all for a mistake she was not responsible for shows that she is aware of some of her image issues. Unfortunately manufactured scandals such as the email server and Benghazi continue to make it difficult to defend any of her positions, because the GOP and Fox News spent the last four years trying to crucify her with misinformation and unfortunately a few of those nails have stuck.

Regarding the email situation.

Was it seized upon by her enemies, blown out of proportion, and run into the ground? Certainly.

A nonissue? I'm not so sure.

Either way

It's a non-issue. Private servers are incredibly common in all levels of government, even during the Bush administration. The FBI investigation is a waste of time and tax payer money; a Clinton indictment is a pipe dream.

Trump has plenty of skeletons in his penthouse closet. His multiple business failures, bankruptcies, and marriage infidelities alone could fill a book. Adding the United States to the list is something we should fight hard against.
Trump Airlines
Trump Vodka
Trump Casinos
Trump: The Game
Trump Magazine
Trump Steaks
GoTrump.com (luxory travel search engine)
Trump University
Trump Mortgage

He makes George W. Bush's business failures pale in comparison.
Arbusto
Spectrum 7 Energy Corp
Harken Energy
Not to mention his fat fingering the Texas Rangers MLB team and farm system to an almost complete financial failure, as well as insider trading and corruption.

But when you're a shameless egomaniac, your faults can't be used against you.

Given all this, it'll get real nasty, but I don't think he'll let it stop him. I think he'll embrace playing the victim card at the hands of "the media" and his supporters will just love him that much more.

Thing is, there are only so many white males in the US. That's a definite ceiling. The question is whether he can get votes from women and minorities. If so, it's an uphill battle.
