New Superbowl Thread. Talking about the game/event!

That was all I could saw too, live and then later. I saw it live, and saw the pretty big swat to the back of the head (you see Gronk deliver the big swat that forces the head forward, then even square up with his fists a little toward Irvin) that 51 (Irvin) seemed to directly retaliate against. Irvin was then ejected for being the "instigator". That is the part that bugs me. But it was definitely ugly either way.

It was ugly either way. Looked at Gronk several times. His hand was open and pushed forward on 35's helmet - swat. I believe that it was called on Irvin because it was a closed fist.

Could be. But to be branded the instigator and ejected when his guy received a heavy open handed swat to the helmet is a bit stretching it. Still, the retaliation was dumb. Let's drop that part of it and focus on the overall epic game, marred from my point of view, by the really stupid play call, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Ugh. Hideous. Just kidding. You enjoy Randy. I am proud of my Seahawks for getting this far, and almost repeating. They played overall a good game after struggling in the beginning, continued to fight through more injury and almost closed it out. Almost. But, congrats to the Pats. Good win.

My energy was spent yelling at a television in the first half. Saw it started to go downhill in the 2nd half. Started to get a little spark when the 4th TD was made and the possibility was there. Then the Butler play on Kearse and he caught the ball, I started to relive the David Tyree incident again. Was so shocked that Hawks went for the inside slot pass. As Pete Carroll said, the Pats had the goal line D on so they tried something else. The expectation was Marshawn to run.

Just to show there was some sportsmanship going on, here is a photo to close out the night.

Yeah, it was a good interception. And Pete is the gambler. It paid off earlier in the game. Not this time. But with the time on the clock and Marshawn and Russell there, I wish they would have at least tried a run or two before that. Oh well. He is a hero of the gamble pays off like the one earlier in the game that the relatively unknown Matthews (other than the recovery of the onside kick against GB) caught.

Great game didn't care who won so worked for me. While I understand Carrol's rationale I still think it was a dumb call. I guess the football gods pulled their support of the hawks at the last second.
Disappointed with the behavior of both teams at the end. Classy act by Sherman though

Matthews helped to take the lead in the 3rd period and I thought the ball was going to him more towards the end but not so.

Either way I can now wear the banner proud until next season along with the next big sporting event.

Great game, although I didn't like the end.

When Seattle was 2nd and goal and Wilson dropped back to pass, I yelled, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I thought for sure they'd give it to Lynch. Wow. Probably a lot of others were thinking the same thing. There were maybe 15 of us watching, and most of us were stunned by that play call. Even if Wilson had completed that for a touchdown, I would have thought that was a bad play to call. Seattle had THREE chances to go one yard with someone that the Pats hadn't been able to stop....and they call a pass play.
