I read a bunch of his stuff back in the day and always enjoyed it. The first season of this didn’t really do it for me though. Not sure why. It does suck that he sucks though.

yeah, I watched the first season when it debuted but it didn't really land for me either. Passing on season 2 isn't much of a sacrifice, I'd wager.

I didn’t even finish the first season of The Sandman. To me it felt like a bunch of disconnected actors just reciting their lines. The changes that they made to the plot didn’t work well. Gwendoline Christie was a major miscast, she was totally flat as Lucifer. I thought my time would be better spent reading the comics again.

I mostly just like The Sandman out of the stuff of his that I read, so I think I maybe just liked the artists' work. The Netflix series is a nice way to revisit the graphic novel but isn't really standing up on its own. I watch it while I do paperwork or work out, and it's fine for that.

The concept of American Gods was great but I don’t think it landed as well as it should have. It felt too over the place. I preferred Anansi Boys. It was a more focused and felt lighter.

I don't know if any of you are watching "Alien: Earth" on Hulu....
The first episode I thought "Okay, this could be interesting" but took me a bit to come back to it. Once there were a couple episodes queued up, I binged those and it gets pretty decent. They set up various "entities" between human, synthetic, a unique experimental hybrid, and of course the Xenomorphs...
Today at lunch I started episode 5....
What in the fuuuuuuuccckkk......
If you think there isn't something that can give you the icks more than a parasite that literally chokes you, face fucks you, and it's baby explodes from your chest..... Episode 5. Fuck me.

The spin offs and prequels have been various degrees of disappointment. I had hoped Alien Earth would do better. A case can be made that it's better than some of the movies that followed Aliens, yet I find it lacking.
IMO Alien Earth is a mess. It's full of missed opportunities to develop plot points and characters. There are implausible narratives. Everything seems like an excuse to get to the next monster encounter, rather than have the most interesting and compelling story. I'm still watching, but for me, it's a subpar. Poorly written IMO.

Should I continue with Yellowjackets past season two? It's interesting, but the payouts are SO slow in coming. I would have already given up if not for Elijah Wood showing up. His character is great.

I liked season 3 but I feel like most people didn't. Some ridiculous stuff happens and a lot of it was unintentionally funny because of how dumb it was, but I still enjoyed watching it.

I've seen 1-5. Some episodes are better than others. I don't want to detail spoilers regarding specific plot holes and missed opportunities in each episode. Overall, the writers have difficulty with cohesion and logic, as well as missed opportunities to make interesting embellishments to the story. But, hey, there's cool monsters and special effects. For one episode in particular, I imagine the writing train of thought went something along the lines of, "Let's hurry through this plot point and wrap it up quick, so we can get to the monster mayhem."Give Episode 5 a try... they explain everything that happened on that ship with the..... specimens

Well, the Charlie Sheen documentary was... um... interesting.
I mean, I remember all the stuff over the years: the Heidi Fleiss thing, the divorces, the tiger blood, the HIV, etc. But to have it all right there, one thing after another, is pretty gnarly. Dude is just wired differently.

My wife and I watched. It was a spectacle, like a car wreck, another car wreck, and another, on and on, rinse, repeat. Interesting the strategy his friend used to help ween Charlie off crack. We were glued to the screen for parts 1 and 2 in succession.
The whole time, these thoughts kept going through my mind. This guy has something like 57 lives. He's unbreakable!
