Give me something to watch on Netflix

Great season of Ginny and Georgia, but sometime I felt like I was watching a very special episode of DeGrassi High or something.

The Residence on Netflix is worth a watch. It's a comedy crime drama about a murder investigation in the White House. Very reminiscent of the Knives Out movies with a bit of Veep and a smidgen of The Naked Gun. Good bones. The jokes come thick and fast and you need to pay attention to catch them all. It's fun.

Holy shit! Dept. Q was fantastic!

I'll have to give it a go. I think my wife would particularly like it, she's into all that kind of stuff.

I just finished Murderbot, and it was really well done and very enjoyable. I felt a bit emotional at the end, even though I knew where it was going as I'd read the book. I'm really glad it's been renewed for another season.

I really enjoyed Murderbot too. I wish he (it?) had made a different decision at the end, but it was still emotional.

Watched heads of state last night. Not going to win any oscars but a fun no brainpower required buddy movie that doesn't take itself seriously.

We also watched the new Jurassic Park earlier on the week. Genuinely one of the worst films I've seen in years, after the opening montage there's nothing redeeming about it at all.

We're almost finished Sneaky Pete season 1.

There's a couple of annoying tropes -

Yet another "intellectual" smart talking school aged teenager that seems to know more than the adults

"Conman speak" which I think is meant to sound cool - "how can we pull a double Stockholm pancake on these guys? Our purple donkey is in jail!" Not verbatim but that shit grates me.

That aside it's really good. Bryan Cranston is in it and great as always.

We enjoyed "The Penguin Lessons".

"Hunting Wives" is pure pulpy trash that I hated myself for watching, but it did hold my attention.

The wife and I enjoy Leann Morgan's comedy, but her Netflix sitcom is awful.

This is an interesting contrast. Heads Of State was fun and good for what it was, a popcorn movie that felt like it was written by a 12 year old. Jurassic World: Rebirth was fun, but wanted to be more than it was, and felt like it was written by a 12 year old.

The former will be more rewatchable and live longer in the memory than the latter.

Started season 2 of Raised by Wolves last night.

And I just finished it :embarrassed:

I enjoyed the first season but it took me a loooooong time to bother to get round to the second after they cancelled it. Glad I did though. Has there been a weirder TV in recent years? The second season in particular is like a live action Scavengers Reign. Truly weird alien shit going on.

For those unaware Ridley Scott was heavily involved and it has a lot of Alien/Prometheus vibes with weird scary aliens and interesting takes on androids. It will be interesting to compare it with Alien:Earth.

Unfortunately cancelled after two seasons. It doesn't end on any major cliffhangers and resolves the main stories of the first two seasons but leaves a lot open to continue. Worth a watch but a little frustrating we won't get more.

Binging Foundation on Apple right now--really getting into it!
I like it. I've been watching since the 1st season. I'm all caught up on season 3. I'm waiting the next episode to drop.

Some of the location shoots are spectacular. The books were written long before I was born, 1951, '52, '53.

I just finished watching Untamed on Netflix. I enjoyed it. it's a murder mystery that uses Yellowstone National Park as a background. It's a quick watch with only 6 episodes.

A coworker was talking about that. Is it a true story or fiction?
