Casino jam

Poor old Geordie's array...
Was at the biggest casino in town tonight for a sportsmans dinner.

I like betting moderately and haven't been to a casino since Vegas 2017.

It was all a bit scabby and grim. I played a few rounds of roulette and ended up £10 up. The dude next to me was betting and losing £500 per spin on 2 tables :headsmash:

I’m fully clueless about roulette. It’s just a spinning vortex you chuck money into in my world.

I love blackjack. I’ve dabbled in craps, it can be exciting but it’s dangerous.

I usually give myself 100.00 to play Caribbean 5 card poker and once that's gone I quit...in the very few instances of me actually being in a casino I've come out a couple hundred ahead every time...

I just spent 8 hours working on a craps table.
You're on your own in this one.

Played some poker and a local variant of blackjack in school, to be part of the cool crowd I guess. It was only small change but I sort of felt bad about it anyway, especially when younger kids felt they were forced to borrow money from the big bullies.

I prefer craps to any other game but to the best of my knowledge nowhere has a table over here.

I don't even like roulette tbh but we had 10 minutes to kill waiting for our ride so I had a play.

Still can't get my head around the dude betting £1000 a spin and there was another really drunk guy who rocked up and kept putting money on 00.

Outside Vegas I always feel on edge in a casino and this was all very depressing.

I played some poker when I was in Vegas but it wasn't great fun. Everyone was too serious. I enjoyed the games for themselves but it was a million miles away from poker with your mates.

I'm not a gambler, I just really, really hate loosing. If I was better at at it, I'd do it. I do buy a lottery ticket a couple times a year. It's fun to dream then, when I loose, I can be thankful I didn't win.

Gambling holds zero attraction for me.
same. Casinos are fun for maybe 30 minutes as a place to gawk at all the weird people who area actually into it and to have a "free" drink, but that's about the extent of it

I used to be a decent poker player at house games but playing it in the casino is shit, as you say everyone is too serious and there's no banter.

That's why I like craps, everyone is friendly and wants you to win unless you're one of those scumbags that plays the do not pass line.

Sidenote, I played well on 8 of 9 holesthete, I should get hungover every time I golf.

it is a good place for people watching

for a little bit, then when you're sufficiently horrified by people, it's back out to the awesome climbing and hiking! (assuming we're talking about vegas)
