Would my dogs ever beg?

Why yes, yes they would - probably because Mrs Aahzz and I both give them food when we're eating.

This is what I see when I am having a snack on the couch:

We don't feed jack from tr table in our house but he spends so much time with my inlaws (actually my father in law) that he's learned some bad habits.

Begging dogs = outside... And don't even think of getting on the couch...

Your worth just increased tenfold in the eyes of Mrs. G. She loves our animals but she teaches them that they work for us and not the other way around. Dogs are to alert for danger and clean crumbs off the floor.
That's oversimplifying it, obviously, as she'd lay down in front of a bus to save Kevin or Peaches but rules is rules.
She's a bit of an enigma in that way. She contributes money and bags of food to feed the neighborhood field cats, volunteers for shelters and all kinds of stuff but there's hell to pay if she catches you feeding the dog scraps. She won't tolerate a beggar and Kevin damn well knows he better sit his ass down to get the leash in for a car ride or a walk. But, he's a spazz, so you gotta have a firm hand with him.

The rule at my house is if it falls on the floor and the dog can get it before I pick it up, it's his. Otherwise no human food.

As for the couch and the bed, he'll sleep on them whenever he wants. If I'm on the couch there is a 98% chance that he is next to me, with his head in my lap. At night he's asleep across my feet.

Our dogs are always welcome on the couch, and we're more than happy to share food with them..within reason, since we want them to have a healthy diet as well.

Jack ends up sleeping with us most of the time. He also gets fed a chunk of raw hamburger and some fresh vegetables every day with a cup of his dry food but he's not allowed to beg for food at the table or steal food from the kids.

Dogs are fine on our couches but they'll only jump up on the bed if invited. Feeding from the table is a capital offence in our house, but that doesn't mean that healthy leftovers don't get cut or mashed up and mixed in with the dog food when we're setting their bowls out.

Wow... Dogs in the bedroom... My dogs were rescue dogs, about a year old when I got them, untrained, and completely spoiled by the ladies that rescued them (they had an animal rescue business)... Anyways, the first night we brought them home, after I went to bed, they both walked right upstairs and hopped up on the bed... I about hallucinated! Needless to say, they both rolled down the stairs, and they are 80 pound dogs... At this point, I don't even let the fucking cats in my bedroom... A cat's job is to kill rodents, and a dog's job is to clean up crumbs and be a sentry... I do let them in at night to sleep in the living room... Of course, the dipshits ate their doggy pillows, so they get to sleep on the wood floor...

I didn't get a dog to fulfill a job. I got a dog because I love him, even when he does dumb dog things.

Oh, I know... I love my two dopes, too... And, although we got them because my wife just had to have them, they have definitely grown on me... There was a time where I would not let them in the house at all, and gave them no leftovers... I'm slowly caving in...
