Gig Report: Workshop 13 Cultural Arts Center

Gary Blanchard

beloved, local musician
Last night Carol, Richard Bachtold, and I did our nature program at the new Cultural Arts Center in Ware. We had a great night. The Ware Community TV came to film the show for broadcast at a later time; they will also give us a DVD of the program. The audience was very attentive and supportive, and we got some good feedback after the show. (One couple told me I sound a lot like James Taylor. That's a connection I never made before.) In addition to the TV station, there were some people taking photographs, and one person doing sketches as we performed. I hope to see some of those.

All in all, it was a great night.

Mr. Gary Blanchard folks - the master of understatement!

Glad you had a great night Gary. I got to be interviewed for a local radio program in October, and it was really weird listening to the interview. At the same time, it was pretty cool.

It is surreal. I have been on two TV interviews and it is hard to fathom that this is how you appear to others.:embarrassed:ops:

I haven't been on TV, but I sure do agree that it changes your perception of yourself a bit. Fortunately, the post production on the interview had my voice sounding awesome, as opposed to all those times that we played our voices back on a tape recorder, so my self-esteem got to ride a bit higher for awhile.
