Why does Amazon do this?

I guess another possibility is, when they say it's in stock, they really mean they are getting a truck load in a week.
 
I have been a Prime member for several years now. As a Kindle reader, I get a lot of free and discount books and have access to borrow books through Amazon. I use Amazon also to buy things that would require two-hour trips with the cost of gasoline and wear and tear on my car; that is one of the disadvantages of living in a small town, but Amazon makes it easier. Plus, I was able to add Carol to my Prime account, so we both get the free shipping benefits. I figure I save money by not having to travel for things I need. Obviously, anything that I can buy local I buy local, but WalMart is the only place close that carries a lot of things around here.
 
Prime is just like fast passes at Disney World.
They are great if have them but suck if you don’t. Of course they want you to pony up so they aren’t going to give you the benefit for free.


I bet Amazon also likes the buffer of non-Prime members give them during surges in buying. They can fulfill the orders over a longer time frame if they need.
 
Not a fan of Amazon - Prices aren't the greatest. Prime video sucks based on speaking to people and why pay for the privilege of shopping there?

Majority (not always) I find stuff cheaper on e-Bay.
