Where to host backing tracks?

Chihlidog

Kick Henry Jackassowski
So, I've been goofing off with my guitarport a lot and I'm messing with a little riff which is totally unlike anything I'd normally play. Once I polish it out a little I might post it as a backing track unless I come to my senses.

Where could I host it (free?) and what format should I use? MP3? Thanks peeps.

Sweet. Thanks Tele.

Oh, hey....I was trying to mess with some sounds to get that real Hendrix-ey sound you managed to get on your new fender....and as stupid as this sounds, I cant figure out the third "chord" on Wind Cries Mary....it isnt the same chord (e and a strings together...) position on that last note, is it? THat sounds completely dumb but it doesnt sound right to me. Any help? :embarrassed:

Bar chord D, Eb, E, with or without the 5th below. Then D/F# Eb/G E/Ab played like
x
7
7
7
9
x

pattern, then slide up chromatically.

OK, once I mix it down I get a .wav file, which is a BIG file...like 45 megs. Um, any advice on how to convert it to a decent size but still decent quality file...mp3 maybe?

Yeah, mp3.
The "normal" quality mp3 is at 128kbps, but both 160 and 192 should be fine and not too big for most peeps.
