What's your favorite pickup?

Gold covered Seth Lover neck in my Dot Deluxe; super sweet, clear and sensitive.

Though I've recently been really, really impressed with the stock Alnico Classic Pros in my new Epi 339, against my expectations. I always expect to upgrade pickups, but these .... ? Right now I'm thinking no need, which surprises me. Pleasantly.

[edit] In example #32,768 of "Pickups Sound Different in Different Guitars", the same Alnico Classic Pros that I love in the 339, sound lackluster in my TV Silver Epi SG G400 1966, even after adjustments. I'm probably going for humbucker sized P90s in it. There's something about an SG with P90s ...

[edit again] Considering how well I like the splittability of those pickups in a semihollow body, I'll probably have the electronics guy remove the whole wiring harness to be transplanted into another semihollow.

As for what I own, Reverend P90's.
For what I'd like to own, the list is long and pricey.

Otherwise...

That's a beauty. My dad had a stripped down work truck of a black 59 Apache 10 when I was a kid. If I recall, it was a 6 cylinder with three on the tree.

We had a '79 F-250 Hi-boy that was pretty cool, but for all around utility, I'd say our '96 Dodge Ram.

For guitar pickups, I like whatever Mike Ness recorded Sex, Love, and Rock n Roll with. I'm guessing it was his P90 equipped gold top.

So, P90s.

Usually the neck pickup in whichever guitar I happen to be playing. I'm not super picky and have liked most of the stock pups in most of the guitars I've owned. Even when I've changed them, I tend to spend most of the time playing with teh neck pup.

Single coil / hybrid = Bill Lawrence L-250, 80's ESP Rails
Humbucker = 80's ESP L100, 80's Jackson J90(c), RH Factor PAF-2, DiMarzio Axis, Any 60's era vintage Gibson PAF

Tele sets: Dragonfire Tele Texas Blues

I tend to like the more neutral low gain pickups in general

I'm more of a Jeep guy, never liked pickups.
Ummm. Depends on the guitar.
Strat Single Coil- 54 Custom Shop or Lace Holy Grail. The Lace sound a lot like the 54's without the hum.
Humbucker- It's probably just because they're new to me but SD Whole Lotta Humbuckers and PRS SC245 pickups. The SC245 are hot but still articulate. I have been very impressed with them.
Tele- Wow All over the place here. All around sound- Rio Grande Muy Grande. But I really like the Custom Shop Nocasters too. Vintage and great growl overdriven.
Most recently Dimarzio Area T Hot. More of a P90 than typical Tele pickup but I like it. Lots of clarity but if you have it full volume and too close to the strings, it can be harsh.

Yup. I did it. Turned into that guy that can't answer the basic question. But it's kind of like asking me my favorite movie. My answer... Which genre?
