I voted Beatles for this one because I think I can pull of at least an acoustic version of a Beatles song. I want to do another song I am currently working on so it would make it more possible for me to do both.

I would love to try some 80's hair metal for the next one though. :thu:

Please post it when you find it. :thu:
Holy shit, they're still hosted on that HC site. I did a Google search for them and found 'em both. These are goddamn good songs. biggrin

"I Have a Crush on You" — http://hc.bloodyvelvet.com/files/14/I Have a Crush On You.mp3

As a sidenote, in the thread where I found them, you were actually the only person responding to my nonsense: "Darth Vader meets Tommy Tutone"

biggrin

I've been out of touch with computer/electronic music for so long, I really hope I'm still able to do this. In which case, there will definitely be a full album of covers in this style. :embarrassed:

You definately approach it from a unique perspective. biggrin

I'll be interested to see what you come up with.

So it's looking like Beatles this time....we can do the 80's Metal for the next one (which I think will give those of us with new gear a chance to learn how to record a little better before tackling some RATT :embarrassed:)

I dont know any beatles stuff except for what is always played on the radio. Revolution, I wanna hold your hand, twist and shout, a few others. Im totally out of my element on this one :embarrassed:

Some of their very best stuff wasnt widely played on the radio. The Beatles were absolute genius songwriters.

I've already got two hair metal songs picked out that I just HAVE to do. :embarrassed:

I can probably come up with a Beatles song to do this time too, but I'm also planning to do an original this time.

I wouldn't worry too much about the theme if you';re not comfortable with it...maybe we can have a "Beatles appreciation" thread with our favorite Beatles songs today...

I didnt say I wasnt comfortable with it, just that I dont know any Beatles songs  I think it will be fun to try to do one. Certainly challenging. I'd be uncomfortable f it was, you know, Slayer or Deicide something like that  but the Beatles should be fun. I was sort of hoping for the 80s metal one, cause I love 80s metal, but I really have no idea how I'd pull of any 80s solo. I mean, for all the cheese, great, I mean REALLY great, virtuoso level guitarists were a dime a dozen back then. I couldnt hold a candle to even the worst player of the 80s.

I think there are a few that you'd probably be able to wipe the floor with. Yeah, the bigger bands had some great guitarists, but for every well known hair metal band with an amazing guitarist, there were 10 that never got huge and had a guitar player that only knew how to dive bomb harmonics and make funky noises.

I will gladly butcher a Beatles song or a 80's hairband song.

I'm currently recording a Sex Pistols song...so I was hoping for a late 70's punk theme...biggrin
