What is your favorite EL34?

I would usually spring for =C= but $80 for a matched pair doesn't fit into the budget for an experiment. Does anyone have experience with Electroharmonix EL34s? Or what are you using? Looking for that plexi clack sound.

I usually go with JJs for power tubes no matter what flavor and EHX for preamp tubes. I haven't owned an EL84 based amp in probably 10 years though.

I haven't had an EL34 amp in some time. When I did, I usually used JJs or EH.

It may just be my ears, but I just don't hear that much of a difference in brands of tubes any more. JJs seem to consistently hold up, so I use 'em.

My last set of EL34's were =C=. I'm not hearing much difference btwn brands that much either so I would go with Tung Sol, EH, and lastly JJ.

My only EL34 amp still has the original power tubes from 1989.
