I switched to a clip-on tuner the night I tried tuning a guitar, a banjo, and a mandolin in a noisy club using a harmonica.

when I got my first electric I think (in 2003). Prior to that I didn't go to music stores muchI didn't play before electronic tuners.
One of those Korg types was my first tuner. it had both a mic, and a place to plug in a guitar cable.^^This

Might as well have been. They double booked that night. To their credit, they paid both acts , set us up in different places, and had us trade off sets. It was not the right venue for what I was doing at the time, though.... and that club was called "The 6th Circle of Hell".![]()

Yeah. This was more a matter of,"Oh well, I will get paid."I only like trading sets if it's a band I know, like, and the musical genres match up okay.
