what bass should i get?

i've finally come to the realization that my MIM Precision bass has a huge neck that i can no longer get along with. i have 70s Epi bass that sounds great but plays like utter shit. i don't like the Jazz bass sound.

what should i get?

Smaller if I remember right. Haven't played a P Bass in a while tho.

I had one for a while and traded it on a MIA P bass. I really wish I'd kept the MIM Special Deluxe.

I ended up trading the MIA P on a MIA J and got more out of it on trade than I had into it, so it worked out.

FWIW, I got mine with a $100 rebate and it only cost me $499 from MF. Maybe they'll have another Fender rebate or a holiday sale or something.

i don't like the bridge pup on those. you get the quiet humbucker of the P and then the single coil hum of the J. they just don't blend well. it'd drive me batshit crazy and i'd have to replace the pickups.

Both pickups are noiseless.

If there's anything I didn't like about mine, it was the active EQ. If I'd kept it, I'd have probably eventually modded it to be just a master tone, master volume, blend pot.
