Over the past few years, I've been using an evh 5150 III 50 watt amp. I've been controlling it via midi with a line 6 pod xt live.
Using the pod, I've been able to control the volume jump between channels 1 and 2 and I use it for the efx and noise gate. I've added a volume, wah and boost pedals but it's pretty much the same set up.
This past week, I bought a mxr carbon copy and isp decimator to use in the loop. I spent about 45 min rewiring the pedal configuration using the only 1 spot with some connectors.
I finally got a pretty good lead tone, but nothing that blew me away.
I flipped over to the clean channel... Epic fail. It sounded lifeless and dead
I came to the conclusion that I spent a lot of time over the past few years on getting the xt live to work perfectly with the 5150.
To get the same versatility without the 5150, I would need more than just a delay pedal and decimator.
