Get a text this morning from drummer dude:

Thanks to everyone for coming out last night. Everyone rocked and it was awesome. Unfortunately I have to give up playing to work on my marriage while I still have one. Sorry I wasted everyones time.

Wow, just wow. Yea find a new drummer. Don't let this deter you cause the same scenario will be played out forever.

I talked to most everyone tonight and that's the plan. We need to figure out a new play to practice. I'm a little to far way for everyone else to come over here. I did think she looked pissed when she walked in last night.

if nobody is willing to give up their garage, are there any by-the-hour rehearsal spaces that you can go to? it gets spendy if you're there often, but split between everybody it should be like $10 or $15 per person for 3 hours.

You should tell him he needs to get a professional-grade wife.

When it gets to this point, it's usually just a matter of time before the marriage falls apart. I feel sorry for the guy and his wife. Divorce is hell for everyone involved even if things are civil.

In the meantime, find a new drummer.

The first bass player in my cover band had to do the same thing. Good decision.

We were lucky and ended up with a much better bass player. :)
