This is something of an experiment..I just put the forum up today and I'll be working on it over the next couple of weeks, so keep checking back.

The first activity will be the "December" solo contest...I'll have more details on that by the end of this week.

I am hoping that the couple of hundred visitors a day we have to www.markweinguitarlessons.com will join the community and make this a fun and guitar friendly place to hang out...I'll also try and get some of my fellow guitar teachers on other forums to post when they release the lessons on their sites, too!

Hey Mark!

I just wanted to tell you that I really love your site and your online videos have helped me alot!
I'm playing the guitar for almost 2 years now and I taught me almost everything by myself.
Recently I've noticed that I'm somewhat stuck and that I just don't know what to play
or what to learn next.

However, when I found your site here and watched some of your videos, I got really inspired and
learned many new things which I never knew that they even existed beforehand.

Thank you for putting this site up and I'm looking forward for some new videos of your band!

Thats really cool! I am happy that I've helped you "out of your rut'...sometimes I just need to find a new book or video to get the gears rolling again when I get stuck....or a new guitar ;D ;D

I think we'll be playing at the end of July with the "blues" band so I might have something to post after that. I've totally slowed my performance schedule down this year so that I could focus on getting the book finished, stuff for our studio that has needed to get done and all of the internet projects...its really bummed me out but I am hoping that the second half of the year will give me a little more time to get out and play 8)
 
Thanks for the cool site. I am getting inspired to go back and learn some of the stuff I should have learned 20 years ago. I guess it's never too late.

I usually just stalk most forums but since I found your site after seeing some of your videos on youtube I felt I had to thank you for creating this site. It is an inspiration to a beginer such as myself.

Whats funny is that I feel the same way...I think that you get to a point where you never feel like you can do what you want to or need to on the instrument. There is a ton of stuff I wish I had spent more time on when I was just getting started and doing many of these lessons are kind of helping me reinforce some of those things...

Are you going to take a whack at the solo contest?
 
I have only been playing for about a month or so but might try out the solo so I can look back and see how much I have improved over time. I'm going to order your book soon any chance of geting you to sign it? ::) No worries if not.
