Lots of home stuff. Had to buy a fridge today. Had my smooth jazz wedding gig yesterday.

Great weekend, except for the Astros dropping a series.

Good round of golf, great golf practice session. Played guitar, which always improves my morale. Some good music listening sessions. Made some progress with my librarianing work, getting all my LPs on my music list.

And got the oven fixed. The hinges were fried and it wouldn’t stay shut, for the last couple of weeks I had to prop a chair against it to cook stuff.

Friday, rode 42 scorching miles. Had to use the albuterol inhaler twice due to the Saharan dust clouds that have invaded our area.

Saturday, rode 38 mostly solo miles. Watched the Astros lose.

Sunday, rode 30 miles, including a 6 mile time trial on the fixed gear. Managed only a 21.2 MPH average due to the coastal winds and my sucking in general. I still had fun.

Watched the Astros lose again.

Congratulations and Happy Retirement @Rick 381 ...

It's too fucking hot...

Worked Saturday, then spent the rest of the weekend puttering around the apartment, avoiding leaving the AC as much as possible...

It's OK, though, I actually got some shit done that's been needing doing...

Right on @Rick 381

Friday - toyed around with my new build. I got it back from my new tech, who is ok, not as good as the old man. Still, I like it a whole lot more that the blue Tele.

Saturday - my youngest had some friends over, so I was a chauffeur for the day.

Sunday - took the pup to my mom’s to see how her dogs would do with her. My mom’s dogs are nuts, but they are Chihuahuas so my dog won. My mom was pissed at her dogs but loved ours.

Friday - actually starts Thursday evening. I went to leave the office and suddenly the key would not turn in the lock. It has done this a couple of times and then worked a few minutes later. No such luck. I couldn’t get a locksmith to come out, so I had the lock the door from inside and crawl of my back window. Then, at 1:15 AM, I get a call from a client wanting to make an appointment. Got back to sleep at 3, then up at 7. Got to the office, talked to several locksmiths; the soonest someone would get to me was Saturday morning. I had closing sessions with several clients, climbed out the window and went home to pack the car. Then I went to my gig at the indoor hydroponic park. I discovered that two hour of standing with the guitar is hurting more and more.

Saturday - I got up and crawled through the window so I could meet the locksmith and have my final appointment. The locksmith came out and, of course, the lock worked. He then tried telling me that the problem was I had my key made at Lowes. I pointed out that we also tried my wife’s key, one he made when he replaced the lock a couple of years ago. He went off to make me new keys and then came back and cleaned the lock. It is working beautifully. I had my very last session of my private practice, then Carol and I went to Greenfield, MA to check out an arts center and had lunch. By the time I got home every part of my body seemed to ache. I took some Tylenol and went to bed.

Sunday - Went to church, then went to Walmart to get a window air conditioner for the back rook of the office, about to become my studio. Most of the rearranging is done now, and the movers will be coming on the 17th to carry stuff from the one studio to the other (though I am moving most of my stuff myself as I don’t trust the movers with my studio equipment).

He came in through the office window
Rejected by a key from Lowes

if I was peen simmons I could do the whole song, but I'm not

Friday - work, then drank copious amounts of gin
Saturday - felt like crap after going out around noon to pick up my daughter from work. It was stupid hot and humid. Spent some time in the pool.
Sunday - went for a hairs cut and then had family over for pool time and dinner
Weekend continues tomorrow. No plans. Probably pool time again.

Friday - worked locally after three days earlier in the week that included seven takeoffs and landings :ack:. Played some guitar.

Saturday - not good from the get-go. Was gonna try to tidy up the garage, where we still have stuff packed, but after an hour it was just too damned hot and sticky. Had a few beers later in the evening, so there’s that.

Sunday - much better. Took wife and SIL for a drive around our rural area. Dropped SIL at a nearby farm as she volunteered to help them with their chickens and ducks for a few hours. Wife and I then went to drive some more, and grabbed a bite to eat locally. Picked SIL up and went home to chill in the AC. Too lazy to do much else.

Congrats @Rick 381 Welcome to the club. It's the best place to be (if you want to join and aren't forced to join :P)

Friday was FTF Flat tire Friday on the bike. But it was a front tire which is so much easier to change than a back. Still I was paranoid on way home since I had no spare (though I do have temporary patches for such emergencies)
Saturday was a hot one, high fire danger and another fire north of us (the smoke was pushed down into our area making for a very red sunset). Worrisome with all the fires already and so early in the season...still 4 months to go
Sunday cooler rode just under 49 miles at a good clip for me. Watched the end of the Croatia Denmark game which was great even though I don't like penalties deciding the outcome. The goalies both were great kind of felt bad for the Danish goalie but someone has to lose

rode about 60 miles today on the bicycle with about 5,000 ft elevation gain. no pics, all suffering. I'm sunburnt, burnt out, and exhausted. Just enjoyed dinner with a bottle of Merry Edwards Sonoma Pinot Noir. Now I feel better.

Friday: Roger Waters gig. Great 1st set, 2nd was a bit meh then he started banging on about celtic so I left.

Saturday: wife took me for a nice steak and some drinks for passing my D1 licence earlier in the week. Came home, packed, tidied, early night

Sunday: drove to our hotel on Gatwick, nice dinner, few drinks and watched the end of the late football game. Started reading the life of pt barnum.

Today: up early and now sitting in the airport lounge before flying out on holiday.

Fri. Last day of work. Retired.

Sat. Went to see Buddy Guy at Summerfest to celebrate my freedom.

Sun. Took wife to church in Madison. Almost bought a Gretsch Electromatic Duo-Jet as a retirement present to myself.
Congrats. I retired from my private practice Friday and start a part-time job Tuesday. I hope you are better at retiring.

Friday - Just chilled after a tough week of work.

Saturday - Morning walk followed by a bike ride. Trying to get the legs back in condition for long rides. Mild yard work followed by a private Jazz/Fusion/Smooth jam - that was fun. Just guitar, bass, keys and drums.

Sunday - Morning walk followed by morning Taichi. After that there was 2 hour of Taichi training to become a certified instructor. This will continue for a few months I believe. In the late afternoon I went to a jazz jam playing real book standards.
