Weekend Wrap-up.

Couch'd Tater...
First weekend off in over a month...was going to go to David Vignola's studio to livestream mix on Saturday but he had something come up so...
Saturday - morning chores and errands...winter prep, took the air conditioners out and stored..some studio time, some couch time...NASCAR...YouTube videos...general puttering...
Sunday - major studio time finishing a Black Magick Marching Band mix that is a bit overdue...afternoon NASCAR, followed by more studio time...uploaded Mix 1 for @Peen Simmons approval...waiting...

Awesome weekend.
- Friday was Dead & Co. concert. Major hassle driving up to the venue and parking, but worth it.
- Gorgeous fall weather. But no golf for me, because our course was hosting a college ladies tournament.
- Played tons of guitar. Yes literally so much guitar it would register some multiple of 2000 lbs on a scale of guitar playing. Much bonding with the new Collings.
- Some more tweaking of the stereo. Here’s a better picture of the amp featuring tubey goodness, and then a killer headphone rig I set up in the bedroom with the leftovers:
Saturday - finished a course for work and passed the assessment.
EDIT: Also played some guitar. Goofing around with the new Jimi Hendrix gear in the Positive Grid Spark practice amp.
Sunday - finished up the flooring - for the most part… I got the steps cut to size and glued in. I just need to trim a few pieces of baseboard down to size and nail them in.
I still have to trim out my office doorway and put the t-mould in to bridge the floor between the hall and my office, but I don’t even have the wood for the doorway trim yet. So, that’s a whenever thing.

Friday - My daughter drove up from Denver so I could meet her boyfriend. This is her first serious BF. I realized I lacked a shotgun to be cleaning when he arrived. He is pretty hyper, but otherwise seems like a nice guy.
Saturday - Figure skating lessons with step-daughter in the morning. Assembled my wife's new exercise bike in the early afternoon, then several hours of guitar practice getting ready for Sunday mornings services. I have been able to figure out a pretty nice sounding part for an original song out churches worship leader wrote that we preformed this week. She liked it so mission complete.
Sunday - Played at church in the morning. I thought my playing was a bit better than normal, but we had the backup sound guy running sound so I doubt anyone could hear me. Oh well - not my issue. I did my job. Did some errands and nursed a sore back for rest of the day (no idea why).

Decent weekend and my next couple have postponed the wedding so I've a month without any gigs / free weekends 
Friday - we spent the week at a little seaside town so headed home, horrible traffic so took almost twice as long to get back. Mrs JBJ was at a house warming so I chilled with Lola. Started a poolish for some pizza dough then refilled the hot tub. Hot water was running high so it ended up at 42 degrees and I couldn't go in :( watched Paul Simon live on Central park instead.
Saturday: tidied away all the holiday stuff, made my pizza dough then headed off to my gig, which happened to be in the very seaside town we'd jist come back from. Traffic was fine so I ended up with hours to kill. Wandered into town and had a nice meal. Gig was really good but bad rain on the way home, lots of aquaplaning so time for new tires. Got in at 3am so went straight to bed and couldn't sleep - sounds daft but if I don't have a bottle of wine out the back after a gig I really can't settle.
Sunday: slept in, went for a few pints with Mrs JBJ and my neighbour. Balled up my dough, hot tub, Squid Games then an early night.

Friday: Organised a party for ColourofGF's 30th birthday. Had a blast, good times with friends.
Saturday: tired and a bit hungover, made the GF breakfast in bed, gave her gifts, spent the rest of the day doing nothing in particular.
Sunday: cleaned up my studio that was a bit wrecked from the party (we went there after 10 to not disturb the neighbours). Then walked the GF to the train as she had to fly to Berlin for some fancy gig tonight.
Saturday: tired and a bit hungover, made the GF breakfast in bed, gave her gifts, spent the rest of the day doing nothing in particular.

My first weekend wrapup in over a year.
Friday: my girlfriend and I attended the football game where her daughter plays in the band. Good game, good weather, good time.
Satuday: my lady’s birthday. Cooked breakfast. Family came over and it was fun. My daughter cooked for us that evening and it was really nice. My mother, who is 95, was admitted to the hospital, stable but there’s a lot going on.
Sunday: another family member came over and we all went to the local farmers market. Fun. The youth went to local stores while we stayed home. Upon their return we cooked pizzas and made breakfast for dinner. Feasted and a good time was had by all.

Friday - Went out to play some DG after work. When done, relaxed some.
Saturday - Some minor yard maintenance and later that evening, gig at the Elks Club in Newport Beach
Sunday - Returned back to Taichi class after a few months of hiatus. FWIW, I always self practice so returning wasn't a big deal. After all I am one of the volunteer instructors. Was going to play some Disc Golf after but the temps were on the rise and Santa Ana winds takes its toll on my Sinuses. Best to be away from the out and about.

How was my weekend? Whoooooo boy….
Got up before 5 am on Saturday so I could help with a Make-a-Wish playground build for a young child with Leukaemia. As I was pulling into the neighbourhood, and elderly guy drifts across the center line, through the intersection…. I honk my horn, but WHAAMMM!!!!
I was worried the guy had a stroke and passed out at the wheel. Nope... just wasn't paying attention. So… after the police show up, I call my insurance, I finally get to continue to the site.
Build went well and in the afternoon, I realize that Im only 10 minutes from Sweetwater!
They’ve renovated and instead of “a” music store… it’s now more like a music MALL and you go from the “guitar store” to the “bass store”, mics, drums, live music gear, there’s a used shop that is bigger and more well stocked than just about any independent shop I’ve been to.
Ohh those pedal kiosks?…..All three banks?... BOTH sides.
And I’m not even mentioning the cafe, theatre, or classrooms. Definitely a “mecca”.
Got home, watched movies, fell asleep… started working again sunday. Mowed, home projects, tried to fix the leaking valve on the hot tub. Discovered that one of the bottom pipes shattered. Fuck. So dropping truck off at body shop and have an appointment for the pool/spa guys to fix it. I would do it myself but fuck it. I have too many projects right now.
Oh… and one of the guitar bodies that I’ve painted a dozen times…. This one I think is a keeper.
Yeah… flip flop with glitter. And this was only the second coat. Put a third and started the clear.
