Help! Warmoth build

I want to build a Tele. What I need help with is I don't understand the different pre-drills and what bridge will work with what. I think that's my only hold up at this point. What would be the best bridge and what drill configuration would I choose for said bridge?

That's what I'm thinking. I want to put P90's in it too but I just built one and they say they have no pickups for the 72 thinline.

My tele has the Fender American standard flat mount bridge routing. I've had a cheapo bridge on it, then a Wilkinson and finally a Mastery on it and all of them fit. I think that is the general standard Tele route.

First, spec out all hardware you want to use, including electronics.

What bridge/saddles do you want? Vintage 3 barrel ashtray or modern 6 saddle flat plate. Go from there. You mentioned P90's, but are you thinking that for the bridge as well? If so, you will probably need a half bridge. That is going to change the basic tone and timbre of the instrument away from standard tele.

What I am getting at is there are a lot of variables. Do you want a TELE, or a telecaster shaped guitar?

Also, vintage bridges and modern bridges have different mounting holes.

Also, string thru or top load makes a difference. As I said, go over every single detail and write them down. Some choices may limit other choices.

Most bridges I looked at, came in both 3 hole and 4 hole versions. It seems like there is one standard for each version, so any 4 hole will fit a 4 hole mount and any 3 hole will fit a 3 hole mount. I do know, I had no issue with tele bridges but ran into a few when doing a strat.

I also recommend browsing the Screamin Deals unless you are going all out and want to get everything custom.

Not sure you will find a 3 hole vintage bridge with the sides on it for the ashtray cover. There are 3 hole flat plate bridges with 3 barrel saddles, but that is basically the "bubba mod".

A Tele shaped guitar with 2 P90's. I should have been more clear.

Were I building such a beast, I'd prb go with a wilkinson compensated half bridge, like the one Guitarfetish has on their site

P-90 cover is wider than the Tele bridge-plate. I would go with a half Tele bridge, like above, or just use the Fender hardtail bridge, which is what Fender used in this case ...

Just talk to Warmoth. They’re super helpful in my experience and will make sure everything you’re putting together will fit.
