Chicago craigslist of the day: I debating whether or not to answer because it could be a good fit or an absolute nightmare. I always laugh at people who think you need to rehearse 3 times a week and the part about "being remembered alongside the greats" is a red flag but some of it tells me it might be cool.

My name is Fedra; I am a 25 yr old student at NEIU and my major is music education in the study of voice. I play some guitar and currently I‘m learning the piano and violin. Though I can play instruments my passion is in singing/performing/songwriting. I have plenty of experience in performing on various stages in Chicago as well as an excellent ability to do improvised songwriting/performing. I’ve been in bands since I was 18 and have done alternative, classic rock, punk, and many other genres while at the same time studying at school. I also have studio/performing/touring experience.
Music is my life; it is what keeps me breathing.
I am looking to form a 5 piece group with bass, drums, guitar, and keys.
If you’re interested here are some things I’d like to expect from you:
Have your own gear
• Be willing to write/practice/ two to three times a week
• Have your own transportation
• Gig on a monthly basis
• Be willing to share responsibilities with:
Songwriting & Music Composition & Recording
Design/Passing Fliers
Showing up on time
Marketing the band
Performing with energy at shows
Rehearsal room
It would be a plus if you can play any additional instruments or if you can sing backup vocals, or if you can read and write music, but neither is a must. Have an attitude that wants to not only be known in Chicago but also to be remembered alongside the greats of our time. If serious with your response I will gladly reply with tracks of mine.
No Drama! No Metal! No Slackers!
Work Hard & Play Hard!
Maybe I'm too jaded but I'm more inclined to never answer a craigslist again.
