USB interfaces

Apparently it's been so long since I tried to record anything that I forgot my M-Audio Fast Track doesn't work with Windows 11. I really hate planned obsolescence, and I know some of that is unavoidable in the computer/tech space. . . anyway. . . I'll avoid a rant.

Any recommendations on a low-cost 1-2 input interface that might last a few computer update cycles? Or I guess I should ask does anyone have experience with companies with decent software support? Was browsing Universal Audio, Presonus, MOTU, Tascam, like the $200 range stuff. Or do I just get something like this and run through my crappy old Behringer mixer for a while? I can't imagine the mic preamps in the $200 range interfaces are anything to write home about anyway.

My other option is to invest in Compact Flash cards and use the old Fostex MR-8 again. Hmm. . .

Focusrite 2i2 all day every day...

Easy to set up, bulletproof drivers, good conversion...you can get mired down comparing units and most of them will work seemlessly, but it's been my experience that simpler is better, and it doesn't get much simpler...
