After reading this thread earlier I was summoned by my assistant manager who was freaking out. I ran to see what it was. Giant brown recluse in the kitchen. I told her she got the wrong person for the job and walked out.

But your avatar is "AR owners of America." You are prepared for this. Smoke that mother fucker.

You make a good point. But firing off my AR at work is probably not conducive to keeping my job. Especially since my company has a weapons ban on the property. Thankfully they also have no right to search my vehicle. I love loop holes.

You'll be fine, just say "By God" a couple times when you do it.

What, exactly, is a camel spider?

I thought those only lived in Saudi Arabia and places like that......
An abomination of nature. A terrifyingly fast, agile, and vicious little bug that combines all of the worst traits of spiders and scorpions but isn't technically either.

The are hideous little monsters that deserve nothing less than a pre-emptive Viking funeral via a match and a can of starter fluid.

Is that the same thing as the ones they have over in Iraq and what-not?
(or a very similar species?)

If so, yeah, fuck those things.

Yes, the very same.

I fucking hate them.

We also have those giant freaking Wolf Spiders here along with the multiple species of widows and brown recluse.

As if that's not enough, this particular area is crawling with scorpions and rattle snakes that are as big as pythons. Toss in a few Mountain Lions, and it's a wonder we aren't all dead.

I hate the fact that we encroach on their territory so much. There's a massive new development underway just down the road in what used to be a beautiful woods. It's all gone now. The area is known as "Cougar Pass" because those big beautiful cats were once so prevalent here. They're still around, but in dwindling numbers and diminishing health. The soccer moms freak out when one spotted and they are usually killed. They are such majestic creatures, and we just wipe them out without any consideration of the consequences.

Yes, they stowed away in some of the gear that came back from the battlefields of Iraq.

BTW, back in my high school days, I was trimming the Geraniums, that lined the outside walls of the house, with my dad. I didn't know it at the time, but it became apparent that Black Widow spiders, love hanging out in Geraniums. Every single plant was completely infested with Black Widows! I'm guessing they love their Geranium homes so much, evern the Black Widow kids don't like to leave! After doing that work, I was so creeped out, the sight of a Black Widow still makes my blood run cold.

I didn't think I'd have to look very hard to find some widows and I was right. These photos were taken in the last few minutes.

I had to dispatch a Black Widow yesterday afternoon that was chilling in my silly felt St. Patrick's Day hat that my 5 year old niece was playing with. Her mom freaked the phuck out!
