Top Ten KISS Songs

Kiss has ten good songs? I’ve seen KISS live and they were a lot of fun, but I’ve never found the music listenable.

Couldn't watch the video though my favorite is "She" followed by DRC. I like a few of thier songs but 10 would be pushing it.

Not to mention Jane Dornacker & the girls

Here, I'll just leave this here for your entertainment (possibly NSFW)

Watched that entire thing. Always thought "Fee" was the voice of that band but now I think it was Bill Scooner (the V guy). That was fantastic!

Yeah, terrible list.... Where's Dr. Love? I Love it Loud? Do You Love Me? I Stole Your Love?

Much of the soundtrack of my childhood would be made of of Kiss, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Dokken and the Scorpions.

Loved 'em as a teen; pretty much can't stand them now (or for the last 25+ years or so). With that said, their best songs come from their best album:

DRC/KOTNTW/GoT/SIOL - that's four right there.

Then, I kinda like some of the earlier stuff like "Nothin' to Lose", "Cold Gin", "Strutter" and "100,00 Years".

Dynasty had some pretty good tunes that were about as un-KISS-like as any they've done - kinda more laid back, but then again other than vocals Ace and Peter were pretty much MIA.

The only song that I can say I really like past the original lineup is "Unholy" off of Revenge - by far their best post-1980 tune. Had some balls and fit the Gene canon quite well; too bad the album blew chunks the rest of the way.

What I've heard new from them in the last few years is beyond dreadful.

I liked them for a while when I was a kid. I think Destroyer was the last release I bought...on 8-track. :) Watching some of these clips bring back memories. Ace always seems to be in his own world, not really to engaged with the rest of the guys. I especially like the older clips that were before they had the giant stage with all the pyrotechnics.

I would pick "Calling Doctor Love" for the solo...even though I know there's no way in hell Ace played it...

It's been said he did play it, although heavily edited. Then again it could very well be Bob Kulick, he did a fuckload of ghost work for them around that time

Yeah, terrible list.... Where's Dr. Love? I Love it Loud? Do You Love Me? I Stole Your Love?

I think they had to use "love" in their songs to substitute "fuck"...
Dr. Fuck
I Fuck it Loud
Do You Fuck Me
I Stole Your Fuck

Actually, they wanted to name their band "FUCK" but thought nobody would put it on the marquee... so they used KISS instead.

As kids, we used to play a game where we'd replace the word FUCK everyplace they use the word ROCK. I'm sure lots of people did this, but it's fun....

Fuck you like a Hurricane
We will, We Will, Fuck you
Fuck and Roll all night
Love is like a Fuck
Fuck me Gently, Fuck me Slowly
For those about to Fuck
etc.

THAT LIST IS BULLSHIT.

Its missing this:

Hahahahahahahahahaha.....

You guys are the later generation of listeners. Everything on that list is from the classic era of KISS when they were a dynamo. For the original KISS fan, KISS really ended at ALIVE II. Everything after that was considered a sell out.

For me, the albums I listened the most to were Destroyer, Alive II, and Love Gun. I know they had classic songs from before that era, and a couple hits after, but I didn't really follow them much after that.

KISS Alive II was the only album of theirs I owned. It would be the only one I'd consider listening to now.

It was great album. It took the next generation of KISS tunes - Destroyer, Rock and Roll Over and Love Gun - to live context. Meanwhile side 4 had all studio recordings. Of the studio recordings I loved "All American Man" as well as "Rocket Ride". Couldn't stand "Anyway You Want It" but heck I was teen. I learned to love that song later and then realized it was a Dave Clark 5 cover.
