This weekend I am going to learn all those 80's songs I've always wanted to, but.....

Coralkong

Alien
never bothered to.

I've been getting stale with what I play, so, I figured, what the hell.
You know, anymore, it's not that I CAN'T play them, I just never bothered to learn how.

So far up for bids......

Siouxsie and the Banshees: Kiss them for me
Echo and the Bunnymen: Lips like Sugar, Bring on the Dancing Horses
The Cure: In Between Days
The Smiths: How Soon is Now, Bigmouth Strikes Again

Bigmouth Strikes Again....geez, what a great song. It's harder than it looks, since I am transposing it not to use a capo...you know, to keep it interesting.

Any more thoughts?

I have to pick one for the 80's Coverfest over at HC. I think I have one pinned down but I keep double-guessing myself.

Try The Smiths tune.....quite a workout on the hands on an acoustic.

I think that is Johnny Marr on guitar on that one.....good tune, if you can get over Morrisey's whining, which, admittedly, takes some doing. Worth checking out, though. I'll give you a hint, the first chord is C#m.

Do I look like the kinda guy who would cover songs that gutter trash gets plowed to in in the men's room? :embarrassed:

Under The Milky Way - The Church would a real good one. I love that tune.

And some Love-era Cult. I would suggest She Sells Sanctuary, but I get the feeling you'd hit me over the head with your guitar.

Just for shits & giggles, why not set your amp up for crappy tone and do a Poison song or two? ''Every Rose....'' doesn't count. electricguitar054 :rim: :rawk:

sounds like a good idea... i was going through a rut a few months ago so i took some time to learn the main riff from Pour Some Sugar On Me and it got me over that hump
