This really ticked me off.

But it's Tuesday? Are we talking about next Monday? Am I screwed from now until then with awe-lacking days?

I'm not going to finish reading Wade's post either. Cool that he was willing to step into the line of fire.

Tuesday. Yea. My bad. When I abandoned the 40-hour, five day work week a while back, I lost my ability to figure out what day it was without looking at my planner.

And I spent nearly two decades working in news-talk radio. I have no fear of stepping into the line of fire.

That explains a lot. Thanks.

Haha! Welcome. BTW...I like your song "Stardust and Shadows". The sound reminds me of back in the day riding in my grandfather's old truck and some of the singers he used to listen to. And I definitely mean that as a compliment.

Interesting. I'm not sure what he listened to, but I certainly come from a folk background. I am trying to fill out the sound a bit for recordings, but my style is ceratinly "vintage." As am I.

He listened to a lot of folk music but I couldn't tell you any of their names. He was also a big George Jones fan.

Lol. The victim of the MWGL rip machine steps into the shredder. We don't see that very often.

Never fear, we also rip one another, our mothers and anyone else who happens along.

No worries. I always tell my clients, "I hope you have thick skin" when it comes to them performing and putting things on the Internet. A close friend of mine is an incredibly talented voice instructor. In fact HIS voice instructor was Seth Riggs, who was also Michael Jackson's voice coach for close to twenty years. A couple of years ago my friend put a series of videos on YouTube and the trolls came out of the walls and just started slamming him. He took it pretty hard even though the techniques he was teaching were fantastic.

I still bust his balls about it.

I was a little put off by his approach too, but understand exactly what he means, since I spent a long time playing open mic nights by myself.

I downloaded Wade's book, but I'm at the Nickel Creek show and don't have time for it during intermission. Will report back other my thoughts.

Sent from none of your fuckin' business!

Great! Would love to hear your thoughts!

Oh yeah? Well, my voice instructor also worked with Paul McCartney, Pavarotti, Elvis, and Mahatma Gandhi, and I still give him shit for the duet album he did with Katy Perry and Madonna even though both of them were nude and in their prime due to a strange time warp.

Unfortunately, I let Jeff Bridges borrow the pictures when he and John Goodman were at my house last week. They were going to show them to Steve Martin and Franklin D. Roosevelt, but they might have gotten lost when Kate Beckinsale borrowed them so she could show them to our mutual friend Kirsten Dunst.

Damn. That sucks.
Let me know if you get hold of em. I'd like to check those out.

Gary is one of my favorite people on this forum... but I agree with the original link for the most part.

Granted, the tone of the writing is in your face, but it is an advertising piece, not an editorial. Also, my tastes in general lean towards funk and habaneros more so than folk and a latte'.

I know some people are just fine with quiet "background" acoustic performances, but those do not hold my ADD riddled brain for more than a song or two, and are rarely memorable. Watching Jason Mraz shows, like the Java Joe sessions, really illustrated how fun and engaging an acoustic show could be.
