Hot or Not? this old guitar

in high school me and my best friend used to have a little acoustic duo and we played some J.D., America, CSN....you get the idea.
he is gone now, too.

I love John Denver...but there is a local guy who does nothing but John Denver songs. He has two Guilds, a six and 12-string. He sings in the same key as John Denver. Sadly, he doesn't have the range or personality of John Denver so it really doesn't work.
JD's personality and approach fit that time, and to this little kid at the time, worked. I wonder how it would work now, in a much more cynical world. I was also remarking at his voice as I listened to this. Very distinctive, and I think my Dad thought it a little unconventional, but sure seems to have a range and some skill.

I was at a Jason Mraz concert the other night, and there is another guy who even today is un-ironically putting out a positive message of love among humans. I found it refreshing. This is part of what I thought John did, along with his "Far Out!" excitement for nature and fun.

John certainly fit the times. It hurt him to a certain degree as times changed, I believe, much like Donovan.

I miss John too. Hearing him always instantly transports me back to my childhood in the Ozarks, and listening to music with my dad, whom I also miss a great deal.

No, I'm not crying, my eyes are just sweating. Thanks for posting.

Loggins and Messina?

I might have liked that act. Sorry your friend is gone. Maybe pull out your acoustic and do some of the songs to keep him alive in this world.

yea, i think we did Danny's Song and Yo Mama.
we did a lot of stuff like that. i think we coverd a Seals & Crofts tune too. lots of that stuff. of course that was 1972 - 1975, so there's that. [smiles]

ya know, a couple weeks ago i sat down with the acoustic and was playing some stuff and i broke the high e string. those are the strings that were on the guitar the last time we played together in 2014. i'm gonna hafta buy a new guitar now, cuz i don't think i'm taking them off there.
