The jello house smells particularly good today...

Love the aroma of garlic, tomatoes, etc. when I make sauce. It gets me hungry just thinking about it.

I just started simmering my corned beef. Talk about the house smelling fantastic!

So...how's the hospital food?

Actually. Pretty good.

I had ratatouille with a side caesar salad and a dark rye bun for dinner.

Breakfast was huge. Choice of cereal. Banana. Scrambled eggs and toast.
Lunch was fresh roast beef, roasted potatoes and corn.

Evening snack is usually a sandwich of some sort - freshly made.

I've heard rumors of bacon for breakfast tomorrow.
I'm gonna try and trade a pack of smokes for some more...

This thread kinda makes me remember my mom baking breads around Christmas. She used to make a Polish sweet bread that perfumed the house with this indescribable aroma. First thing she would say is that if we touched it, our ass was grass. It never lasted once we broke one open though. Giant thick slices, with real butter, warmed in a frying pan just long enough to make the butter melt. She would usually make somewhere between 20-30 loaves... we would eat some, freeze about half, and share the rest with the neighbors.
